On 8 - What if the mech who gets hooked on the transmissions Teletraan is picking up is Skyfire? He didn't know about the beacons, but he just happens to be on watch for the transmissions.
It would make it extra heartbreaking to show him really getting to understand just how Starscream changed while he was offline.
