Maybe he knows, but he doesn't want to expose Brawn because he thinks Brawn's just being modest. Or maybe Perceptor thinks that Brawn is secretly a super-awesome-amazing-genius scientist, and he's being really careful not to drive him away...
So Perceptor is either being really sweet, or really sneaky. Or maybe... both!
If he gets captured, or overhears Decepticons continuously referring to him as stupid (despite the fact that he cleared up that little cosmic rust problem), he might get a little confused and suspicious. He probably wouldn't suspect Brawn though.
He's probably think it was something he himself did. He's not one to place blame on others, even if that's where it should be.
Legally, I don't know what he could do... Maybe Swindle would have some suggestions?

Megatron: "Constructicons! I want you to build Perceptor the most advance lab you can come up with!" Scrapper: "What if he refuses to join?" Megatron: *smirks* "Once he sees the lab I'm giving him, he wouldn't even dream of refusing."
Starscream: *scrambles for rare scientific data to bribe Perceptor with in exchange for teaching him how to detect the warp location*
Starscream: *looking through datapads* "Mating habits, evolution, solar decay, string theory..." *tosses datapads away one by one* "Genetic mutations, quantum physics, peanut butter." *pauses* "Peanut butter?" *glares* "Skywarp, you left your prank supply list in my room again!" *tosses away and continues looking* "Divine proportion, electro projection..."
I wonder if Perceptor could somehow use this ability to hitch a ride with Skywarp? And if he can see where he goes, could he figure out how to get there himself? I guess the question would be if Perceptor could figure out how to get into warp-space and back out again...
Would he want to get out again? I assume there is some kind of creature that can life in warp space. Perceptor would enjoy studying them. In the end, Skywarp might have to come and get him. But would he be able to? Skywarp is usually in warp space for only a few seconds. Not exactly long enough to realize what's in there.
