I...er...never watched Beast Wars *sheepish* Kind of fell out of Transformers post-G1. But the electromagnetic field is so cool. It's kind of like a limited empathy between every Cybertronian. I'd wager they'd all be fiercely protective of their personal space, then?
The info concerning sparks being different colours is on the TF wiki page for sparks, there's a picture of BM Rattrap and Blackarachnia with their chests transparent, showing their spark colours.
And when they eat metal/plastic/etc, instead of digesting it for energy, they use it for internal repair? Cool!
It's basically reapplying the way human bodies work to a nanite-supported robot body. Protein is the building blocks for constructing flesh in us, so you would think that if Cybertronians need to repair something the simple way of getting more metals and such is to eat some rust flakes and titanium salts in their energon.
Oh, that would make sense. I'm guessing that the different flavors wouldn't be available until Earth, though, which actually HAS coal, oil, and sunlight. Maybe some of the 'bots have an aversion or allergy to Earth energon and some get a taste for it?
Actually I think Earth would have more variety than some other places, with the variety of ways humans have found to create electricity. I think the scene in a fic I saw was that one of the Decepticons didn't like the flavour of coal-based energon, but that was all they had in stock at the time.
...I really need to brush up on my G1 lore. I'm forgetting all this information that I know that I knew. If that makes sense.
Best place to go is the TF wiki (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Main_Page).
Well, it's almost given that in wartime, certain leaders will gain more and more power. There's just no time to deliberate when the enemy is knocking on the door.
That is certainly true in the case of Transformers.
