Cleaning out my hutch...
Hello! I'm new here - been lurking around the fandom for about a year and nurturing several bunnies, but I really don't have time to tend to them, so here I am. Hope someone can give some of them a good home, and that they're not too similar to bunnies that have hopped through before - I haven't read too far back in the archives here yet. ^_^;;; I am at heart a G1 fangirl, so that's the 'verse I was thinking of when these bunnies were generated, but some of them may be adaptable to other 'verses. Maybe. ^_^
Slashiness may be implied in some of these, because that's the direction my bunnies hop, but it's not absolutely specified, so I didn't want to tag them as slash. They could be het, or even gen.
1) The “Once More, with Feeling” Bunny (with apologies to Joss Whedon) – AKA the Ultimate Songfic Bunny – a new virus, intended as a harmless prank or petty vengeance, begins causing odd behavior – the affected mech(s) begin randomly bursting into songs picked up from the airwaves/internet that “express” their repressed/subconscious/hidden thoughts (with other afflicted mechs acting as back-up singers, or the other half of duets as appropriate). Everyone finds this pretty amusing at first, until the virus spreads rapidly amongst all mechs/both factions, and starts bringing some more delicate/surprising/dangerous/damaging information to light.
- Extra points if the songs used are timeframe-appropriate when possible – ie actual 80s music for fics set in early G1
2) The “You’re Not the Boss of Me!” Bunny – Everyone assumes, since Starscream outranks the other fliers in the Decepticon army, he must also be the leader of his trine. He isn’t. It’s actually…
2a) ...Thundercracker. He’s usually pretty laid back about it, until a situation develops where he feels the need to take up his neglected responsibility to lead/protect/control his trinemates...
2b) ...Skywarp. He usually can’t be bothered with trying to ride herd on his independent trinemates, but when he’s struck with an idea for a REALLY good prank, he needs, and demands, their participation (could be combined with the Inquisition Bunny below for lulz)
2c) ...one of the Coneheads. (Or any random Seeker from Cybertron – cue trine fights interrupting Shockwave’s status reports XD) Who’s had enough of the Air Commander’s uppity attitude and decides to put him in his place, with explosive and/or hilarious results. (This scenario could work with Skywarp or Thundercracker, too, of course.)
2d) ...Skyfire. (they never had a third, or he/she is deactivated or broke the bond for some reason...or did they?) Skyfire has always respected Starscream’s right to make his own choices, but after his reawakening on Earth, soon decides it’s his responsibility to save his trinemate from himself – whether Starscream likes it or not. (yeah, Skyfire "saving" Starscream has been done - but I haven't ever seen him use a trine bond/trine leader position to save Screamer by force?)
3) The Unexpected Inquisition Bunny – brought to you by Monty Python
?1: *randomly harrassing ?2 about something*
?2: “Primus! Let it go! I wasn’t expecting some sort of inquisition about it!”
(group of 3 mechs) *burst into the scene/room/conversation unexpectedly* “NOBODY expects the [Cybertronian / Autobot / Decepticon / Seeker / Minibot / Whatever] Inquisition!!”
(for anyone not familiar with the sketch, here’s a script for the basic idea)
4) The “Happiness is a Warm Gun” Bunny – the Decepticons, being primarily warbuild types, tend to share a kink (or for the non-slashy version, an admiration/respect) for inbuilt weapons. (Systems that are defensive or meant to be functional, like Smokescreen’s magnetic smoke or Ironhide’s liquid nitrogen spray, don’t generally “count” to the Decepticons despite having offensive uses – they just like guns)
4a) Though in general this means Decepticons don’t find most Autobots particularly appealing, Cliffjumper’s tendency to produce massive weaponry from his subspace has, unbeknownst to him, earned him a bit of a fanclub.
4b) For some reason, one of the Autobots decides he wants some kind of permanent weapon installed, and Ratchet reluctantly goes along with the request. This does get the ‘Bot Decepticon attention the next time he goes into battle, but not really the type he expected. Alternatively, this gets the 'Bot exactly the kind of attention he expected.
4c) Megatron chose his altform for just this reason – but sometimes it’s almost more trouble than it’s worth. Like whenever a battle plan calls for the use of his powerful gunform, and a mass brawl breaks out in the Decepticon base to decide who gets to fire him.
