I'm curious as to what the individual has to be grateful for? Perhaps they have become listless with the pre-war days. Seeing the slow decline of hope and courage of Cybertron.
Or something less noble like being grateful to the war for giving him an opportunity to fulfill his purpose.

23.[G1] Skyfire, upon learning about the aerialbots little jaunt to the past, convinces Perceptor to recreate the device, and heads back to the Cybertron of shortly after his disastrous survey of Earth.
Only there is a miscalculation and he turns up just after the crash and cannot return. So Skyfire has to pretend he survived the original crash... Or changes his appearance and becomes Thundercracker?
27.[G1] Scavenger /Bluestreak, bonding over scrap (“This piece is from my apartment before my city was destroyed” “This crystal is the last bit of my home I have left. The others destroyed the rest.”)
