2. [Based off earlier bunnies] Due to his creator’s limited means, Springer was given a choice as a protoform: Either take an expensive but socially advantageous femme body or be fledged as mech and be enrolled to the prestigious Iacon Military Academy. To this day, he’s never regretted his decision…

An AU where he made the other choice would be interesting. I wonder if, after graduating, he would choose to switch to a femme body (if that was possible, and if there were no practical problems associated with that)?

3. Femmes made up some of the highest ranking members of Cybertronian society before the war due to the fact that their body types were both expensive to build, the height of both Cybertronian fashion, and pinnacle of technology at the time. Most were killed or fled to various off-world colonies during the first part of the war, with the remainder choosing to either go into hiding (The Female Autobots) or /downgraded/ to mech bodies…

The 'pinnacle of technology' bit makes me wonder if Optimus (in an AU situation) or Megatron - or some of their top officers at least - were former femmes. As for the 'expensive' and 'fashion' part: what about mechs like Mirage, Tracks, and Sunstreaker? They're all either formerly-affluent or very concerned with their physical image; they might be downgraded femmes (Tracks' and Sunstreaker's obsession with appearance actually being more like a self-conscious embarrassment at the 'downgrade'), or they're wannabes who wanted to be built as femmes but weren't for some reason.

5. It’s not commonly known, but bonding to someone who’s already bonded to someone else makes you the other’s mate as well, a little fact that Thundercracker failed to mention to Bee…or Skywarp.

I saw this idea somewhere with Starscream, Skyfire, and Megatron.

6. “I need to watch things die…from a good, safe distance.”

The first thing this made me think of was Inferno and arson.

15a. Many of the Autobots human allies are caught up in the ‘anti-robot’ backlash, with some of them campaigning on their behalf.

Hmmm, what if some of the Autobots' human friends (I'm thinking Sparkplug; as a parent, he'd be pretty shocked and disgusted to find out that some of the soldiers were, relatively speaking, younger than Spike) campaigned against the Autobots?

15b. The Decepticons ignore the UN’s ruling and gleefully begin to wreak havoc when the Autobots are expelled and helpless to stop them…

Well, the 'Cons did the 'child soldier' thing too with the Stunticons, yes? This ficlet would be a nice opportunity to do a 'humans show the Cybertronians what they're really capable of when they're pissed enough to unite and have a motive/excuse to attack' kind of thing...
