(no subject)

I've gotten back to work on my fics, and like clockwork, the bunnies come out of the woodwork.

1.?: It occurs to me, rather belatedly, that all the problems in my life can be explained by the fact that I am not, in fact, the hero, but rather the chew toy.

?2: Could be worse.

?: How?

?2: You could be the woobie. Like Perceptor.

2. Sideswipe, a successful intraplanetary trader, would have made an excellent diplomat if he ever tried.

3. [g1] Raoul, Spike, and Astoria meet…and get along wonderfully. (“Should we worry?” “Astoria just offered to pay for their college expenses if they go to the same school as her. What do you think?”)

a. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Tracks, Powerglide and Bumblebee.

4. Playing around some more with mirrorverse- reversing moral alignment but not appearances, mottos, personalities or relationships. (For example, Decepticons are good, but decepticons are still red eyed, Megatron still gets mad at the drop of a hat, Starscream still tends to poke holes in plans and isn’t entirely loyal, and the relationship between the two is still strained and abusive. On the other side of the coin, evil Prime, but he’s still charismatic, genuinely committed to his cause and protective of his men. The ‘cons use ‘Peace through Tyranny’ as an ironic phrase to describe using force to protect the minorities from the abuse of the majorities, the ‘bots use ‘Freedom is the right of all sentient beings’ as a fancy way of saying ‘I have the right to beat you up, you have the right to try to stop me’)

5. Love Song, by Dorothy Parker

Prime’s new consort is none too impressed by their bondmate-to-be.

6. Transformers toys in universe. Someone is making a tidy profit of those models. (Swindle, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker?) For maximum fun, Transformer scaled Transformer toys. Who has who?

7. [2007] Since he was a child, Simmons’ entire life has been based around one thing: Sector Seven. It was pathetically easy to recruit the man after its disassembly.

8. [g1] The reason Starscream went after Red Alert in auto-berserk? Decepticons are attracted to power, competence, and ruthlessness. Anyone who foils that many decepticon plans has those traits in abundance.

9. [2007] Many fics postulate that imperfect mechs were deactivated as soon as they come online. It occurs to me that sector seven, whose creations from the cube were inevitably violent (due to coming online in a tiny box) would actually favor imperfect mechs, at least the ones with damaged processors or useless optics, since they’re more likely not to lash out the moment they’re born.

10. [g1]Odd art image. Spike from regularG1verse perched on mirrorverse Megatron’s shoulder, explaining how their universes differ.

11. ?:Why are you here? You’re not one of the contestants.

?2: *obviously fake innocent look*You said the contestants could bring along personal belongings. I’m his personal belonging.

12. Gaia and Primus have a ‘little dispute’ over whose children the dinobots are, and meanwhile Unicron is trying to find someway to get Gaia to take responsibility for the Stunticons.

13. One of the aerialbots is a closet [insert human religion of your choice].

14. There is a certain mental illness, where the person afflicted thinks that people they knew before it struck have been replaced with exact duplicates. Combine that with transformers, where exact duplicates are easily possible, and you have a recipe for disaster. (Maybe that’s what Red Alert has. He knows it’s a glitch, but he still sees impostors in the place of comrades. He never met Inferno before he developed it, so he sees Inferno as ‘real’.)

15. Spike: I’m sorry, Prime. You really don’t have a choice in this.

16. Rodimus: Our existence is just as valid as yours is. You don’t have a right to erase us just because the future upsets you, Optimus. I won’t let you do that to my men.

17. [TF:A] Lugnut stoically checked over his weapons one last time, before going to supervise his team’s preparation. Scattershot, their deaf gunner, strapped on his pulser, while Clear, a femme armed with heavy artillery, prepped her guns for the coming battle. They were raiding an autobot scrap yard for defective newsparks to recruit, and they had to be ready if they wanted to get in before the newborns were deactivated.

18. ?:How strange. I saved him, yet I miss the monster I fell in love with.

19. Mirrorverse!Skyfire is fundamentally a selfish creature. When he discovers a universe opposite his own, his first thought was to acquire a version of his former best friend who is more firmly aligned with his own values. He accomplishes this by switching the two Starscreams. Leaving mirrorverse!Starscream alone in a world where his allies are evil, the autobots seem to have hidden their intentions, and everyone, including his old friends, are after his head for betraying them.

20. ?:Surviving is simple enough. You do what needs doing, and you don’t feel guilty about it.

21. Portal crossover. Chell finds the idea of a sentient robot who can actually move utterly horrifying.

22. When your creator is Unicron, eater of worlds, you know you’re going to have some problems, especially since the rest of your species was created by Primus, your creator’s rival and estranged lover.

23. "I don't use drugs; my dreams are frightening enough."-M. C. Escher

Perceptor is annoyed by how often the medical staff decides to ‘casually’ discuss their availability for drug counseling.

24. People say that survival because of an unlikely series of coincidences is a miracle, but what they don’t understand is that death by an unlikely series of coincidences (If the ladder hadn’t fallen here, if the oil spill wasn’t right there..) is a miracle as well. Miracles aren’t necessarily good. (Paraphrasing Terry Pratchett here)

25. You can't go around building a better world for people. Only people can build a better world for people. Otherwise it's just a cage." -- (Terry Pratchett, Witches Abroad)

Both sides have trouble remembering this sometimes, I think.

26. TMNT crossover. In one of the kids books, there is a white, feminine looking robot called Observer Lavael-3.14 (Sic). She's on the moon, and apparently been there for a while. I wonder what she is. Pre-transformer cybertronian, maybe?
