Bunnies and a question

1. Bumblebee always did feel a bit useless. Sure, he's on the Spec Ops team (or minibots team, your choice) and the top three when it comes to scouting and espionage for the Ark. Sure, he's able to cheer up practically anyone just with a smile. But that all tends to go down the drain, when just because of his looks, he's treated like a sparkling that doesn't know any better by the rest of the crew. That's why he's a bit shocked when Soundwave and his team treats him like the serious threat that he really is. After all, they know better than most, not to judge by looks alone. He gets a little flustered when they treat him like this all the time, even when they're taunting and teasing him. Because of this, he becomes a little infatuated with Soundwave. Something the tape lord has every intention of taking advantage of, perhaps trying to get him to join the Cons by taking him under his wind and teaching a few tricks of the trade, how to be a proper warrior.

2. “What has taken you millennia to create, I erase in seconds.” – Rampart Mendicant Bias; Halo 3

3. You know how on car lots some of the cars have their hoods up to show off their engines? Well, would Transformers consider that to be the equivalent of flashing? And after having to stare at a garage for way too long waiting to pick someone up, would the Transformers consider those jacks that raise the entire car up to be some sort of kink? Just think of it though, the mech would be pretty much helpless in that position with their entire underside, which is usually depicted as very sensitive, open to whoever wandered by. Which makes me think of this; What would Transformers consider to be a kink? Since I have the vague notion that while humans and Cybertronians may share some of the same kinks, there would be quite a few that would just leave a human very puzzled, since to us it wouldn't be very odd at all. You know, since we're used to doing certain things to electronics and thinking of machines as, well machines. They'd probably be scandalized by how we treat some of our machines, what we do with them, or even the discussions we have about them. To us all innocent because we're organics.

4. Crossover. Bill Nye, Beast, Mythbusters, Uncle Fester and Wheeljack (or any other of your favorite scientists) all team up to work on a project together. Just for fun. Or maybe they decide to host their own science show.

5. Animated. Since Starscream no longer has a spark, does that mean he can't bond anymore, (and all of the fun aspects that comes with bonding with another), or if he does have a bonded and they don't know that Screamer's still alive, do they think him to be dead? Is he declared legally dead? Could you imagine the hassle he'd have to go through in the afterlife, when he finally does die? He's gonna have to fill out a lot of paper work to get everything sorted out.

6. "Go, my friend, be free. Like the rest of us, living or dead, can never be."
Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2

7. "War is not in human nature. Humans fight by making themselves enter insanity. It is...the same for revenge. This is a tool to amplify the insanity. And this insanity is the source of the power of Dragoons, the Dragon Knight."
"Someday, something will happen, and if you cannot chasten your insanity, I wonder if you will be able to endure it, given the size of your spirit?"
Legend of Dragoon

8. ("Take help where it is offered." Yet I've always found that help offered when not needed is usually no help at all.)
Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2

9. Sparks naturally want to be balanced. They don't choose to become glitch ridden individuals. They can't help the problems that are built into their bodies.

10. Cybertronian law considers twins, split spark one half of the same whole, to be a single individual. Same goes for triplets and any other type of split sparked mechanoids. Sometimes it's not too much of a problem for bots like Reflector, however, when it concerns ones like Sideswipe and Sunstreaker, it's another matter entirely.

11. Some humans become concerned when certain individuals of their race are much more comfortable around giant alien robots than with other humans. This is because they suffer from anthropophobia (fear of people. Or at least organics, since they see the Cybertronians as people, they just don't fear them. We also don't know if this phobia is just fear of humans or all sentient beings in existence since, well, we don't really have a bunch of alien visitors to test this out on).

12. Another thing Cybertronians would have to get use to after landing on Earth would be the atmosphere, or more importantly, the ozone. Since their planet doesn't really have much of an atmosphere, they wouldn't have to worry about harmful affects to it like we would. So they would have to learn how the actions of an individual, like an experiment, affects the environment around them.

13. Crossover. The Transformers meet the 50last. Basically, the 50last are the clone rejects that the Empire decided to put all on Hoth so they're out of the way and won't cause trouble.

14. Strafe / Bluestreak This pairing has the potential to be adorable, and at the same time rather scarring for bystanders.

15. Whenever Red Alert, or maybe Mirage, is around, the pink panther/mission impossible theme is played. For once it isn't Sideswipe, or even Jazz or Blaster that are the ones responsible.

16. G1!Kup / Ani!Ratchet. I feel sorry for the young bots. Actually. No, no I don't.

17. Blades / Afterburner

18. There was a bunny with Skyfire so phobic of ice that he's unsettled by the ice cubes in drinks. This made me think that once he finds out that a severe amount of ice can gather on the wings of an aircraft simply from flying through the clouds, he would probably refuse to fly at all because of how many there are on Earth. Silverbolt has a fear of heights, Skyfire will effectively have the opposite. So they come together to try and help each other master their fears.

19. Why exactly are organic worlds forbidden in the Animated continuity? Was it something along the lines of what happened in Animporphs, where an advanced species shared their technology with a lesser developed race and it all went wrong?

20. The perfect killer has no friends…only targets.

21. The way each faction sees the members of the others. In other words, time for rumors and gossiping.

22. Humans have bird watching, Transformers have Seeker/Flyer watching.

23. It isn't uncommon for severely injured mechs to loose some of their memory. Considering how long the war has been going on and how some mechs are prone to life threatening injuries, it isn't surprising that they're not the same as they were when they first joined the war. But at what point does a bot loose so much that they effectively become a different person?

24. ???? "What the Pit is that?"
???? "I? I am a monument to all your sins."
Because Gravemind is a slagging awesome villain.

25. If everyone thought Squawktalk was bad when he was always talking in any number of foreign languages, they never considered what he'd be like after he got his claws on something like Star Wars: Galactic Phrase Book and Travel Guide. Or other various sources of fictional languages. Lets see how much everyone likes him after he starts speaking in Wookie for a whole week.

26. "The future isn't so frightening . . . once you see what it holds."

27. To satisfy his need to do stunt flying and the occasional stupid trick, Starscream has taken up flying with a bunch of human military stunt pilots/test pilots. (He also uses the excuse that it’s to scope out the humans flying abilities, but nobody really believes him.) He does this mainly for some downtime and to get away from the insanity that commonly takes place at the underwater Decepticon base. However, there's a little unforeseen hitch in his plans. The humans do know who he is since he's made a deal with them. The problem is that he's started to hang around with them after their flights, instead of just taking off. And slowly, as he stays with them longer, he starts seeing the similarities between them and any squad of flyers in the Con army. Starts to think less of them as mere squishies and more as equals. And unconsciously, his CPU starts to categorize them as part of the flyer mentality. So it's understandable that he's in a bit of a bind when the next battle has his trine and his human trine facing off against each other. After all, birds of a feather flocks together. (Could also subsitiute any Decepticon flyer if you want, like one of the Coneheads)

28. "Love your enemies in case your friends turn out to be a bunch of bastards."

29. Throw down the sword
The fight is done and over
Neither lost neither won
To cast away the fury of the battle
Turn my weary eyes for home
Throw Down The Sword Wishbone Ash

30. I have to be a warrior
A slave I couldn't be
A soldier and a conqueror
Fighting to be free.
Warrior Wishbone Ash
This one really makes me think of Megatron, and the world from his perspective.

30. "I am not only a pacifist but a militant pacifist. I am willing to fight for peace. Nothing will end war unless the people themselves refuse to go to war." Albert Einstein.

Is there a comm out there for discussing not only Cybertronina culture and society but also that of the various aliens, planets and the like out there?

If not would anyone be interested in a community focused on something like that? Even to fleshing out the back story of canon characters, or coming up with a personality for a character in some places. I know you can do that here, or really any TF comm and other sites, but this would be its sole focus, (and personally I prefer lj for this kind of thing compared to other sites) ranging from the commonly discussed methods of Transformer reproduction to new things like how Quintessions reproduce and everything in between, including personal/headspace canon. Or, am I just wasting everyone's time? *Kind of feels odd asking for something like this here, but don't really know how else to go about it.*

For some reason, #28 makes me snicker. I might have to put it aside to use for somewhere later....

These are some wonderful bunnies, but my adopting senses are honing in on #1, #3, #14, and #21. The fourth bunny just makes me go "squee!!!" at the mental image of Grant getting loose in the Ark.

#1) I've seen something similar to this appear in the kink-meme, where Bee uses the fact most of the others assume by his looks that he's innocent to seduce the 'Cons. And in my own head, I've often figured Bee would loath being treated like a "kid" but is perfectly willing to use it to his advantage. Add Soundwave, and I'm getting mental dialogue like this:

Bee: (puppy eyes) Please let me go. I'm sorry, Mister Soundwave! I won't steal your tactical plans any more!

Soundwave: Wibbling: Uneffective. Reason? I have /kids/ your age. Tactic does not work against me.

#3) ...you do realize the use of a hydraulic jack could be a good way around the scale issue in certain pairings...

#14) The Gun Range: Not just for target practice anymore.

#21) Oh, the possibilities are endless! I can just see Swindle or Smokescreen having a betting parlor set up based off the ensuing rumor mill.

As for a "theory" comm: YES! I'd be interested in one, because I've not seen a place like it yet. The closest things I have encounter so far are <a href="http://jaylyn.hypermart.net/writings/tfgloss/tffanonglos.html>this index</a> and a lj-post about the various kinds of TF sex.

1. But that all tends to go down the drain, when just because of his looks, he's treated like a sparkling that doesn't know any better by the rest of the crew.
You know, I never got it why so many fans view him that way or at least in a similar light. It surprised me to see that kinda of attitude, and frankly it's kinda confusing too.

4. Crossover.
*cackles and raises hand* Can I help?

8. "Take help where it is offered." (Yet I've always found that help offered when not needed is usually no help at all.) Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2
*agrees completely* Very frustrating too, when that help is withheld when needed even though it was offered before.

10. 11. 12. 18.
These are all fascinating and thought provoking ideas. Especially the laws about split sparks, it sounds all too real. I like the way you think.

19. Was it something along the lines of what happened in Animorphs, where an advanced species shared their technology with a lesser developed race and it all went wrong?
Interesting hypothesis, I wonder what technology it was they shared. Subspace? Transformation cogs? Or better yet what would the transformer version of the yeerks be?

23. But at what point does a bot loose so much that they effectively become a different person?
I was just wondering about this. Though it was more along the lines of what a bot remembers and forgets naturally through the course of their lives that alters them.

27. After all, birds of a feather flocks together. (Could also subsitiute any Decepticon flyer if you want, like one of the Coneheads)
For some reason I'm seeing Thrust as the 'con who does this.

28. "Love your enemies in case your friends turn out to be a bunch of bastards."
You keep coming up with all these awesome life quotes that are good for the reader and would make characters all the more interesting if they had them as their favorites. Where do you get them all? Because I'm jealous. And Soundwave really needs to leave me alone.

I haven't seen a comm for that kinda of thing. Though to be honest, I don't really look around that much either. If you do create one I would most certainly join, figuring things out in a universe I like and bouncing around ideas is pastime I really enjoy.

[identity profile] ink-in-hand.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
I've even seen it done to Sunstreaker.
That's a really bizarre mental image. I have a hard time picturing many bots beyond the leaders of either faction who you'd rather face less on the battlefield than him.

O_oAnd now your bunny about Cybertronian parasites and yeerks has just combined in my mind. Which is turning out to be a very scary bunny, by the way. Though Hotzone has taken an unhealthy liking of it.
See, Soundwave's been plaguing me. Right after I posted I was thinking about my parasite bunny in relation to this, and that my mind really doesn't need to go there right now. Though it does remind me of this fic (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4569762/1/Meeting_of_Minds), even if it doesn't follow the dark theme we've started.Should I be worried if I'm now seeing Hotzone with parasite-in-a-vial in his chemical rack?

I was thinking of Thrust as well. I'm becoming fairly smitten with the Coneheads and wish there was more fic for them.
More Conehead fan-love would definitely be nice. *starts looking for foreign electronics or cassettes and then realizes that the bunny-former Duality is taking up head-space* Damnitall; the psychicness is being epic right now.

Well, I DO have two books that are filled with nothing but quotes and another one that has quotes literally on every page. Then there's the fact that I lurk around the Internet a lot and save all the quotes I find in a notebook. As for Soundwave, the more you want him to go away, the more he's going to stick to you. And, of course, it's the exact opposite when you want him to stay around.
*makes notes on quote gathering* Beyond the psychicness, Soundwave thankfully doesn't bother me all that much. Though that telepathy worked even before I introduced myself here, so it's a bit of a blessing/curse thing. But thanks to this comm, I now have a Matrix-voice in my head.

I love to bounce around ideas with others but feel like I'm interrupting everyone if I do that on a regular com for fics (since I tend to ramble) and the like and don't really interact with a lot of people outside comms a whole lot.
*agrees wholeheartedly* To my embarressment I can ramble too. So a place where I can freely ramble would be awesome.

[identity profile] ink-in-hand.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
It doesn't help that many stories write him as a slightly darker version of Sideswipe that loves to prank everyone in sight. After all, if they can make Megatron miraculously regain his sight after having his optics shattered with Soundwave's love alone, they can do a lot worse.
Wait? *rereads because it didn't make sense the first time* What! That's... that's....*has no words* *brain breaks*

Oh, gods that was great, really needed that. I think he's even named it. And he's cooing at the thing, too, damnit.
It's one of those rare stories that makes you glad you know a lot of annoying songs. *starts humming Found a Peanut* Hotzone I think, has taken up partial residence because I can't get the name Talin for his pet out of my head. The word really exists too, but I didn't know that when it first appeared. And there's a clear picture of the parasite and Hotzone in there as well.

And Matrix-voice? What does it tend to say?
It's not so much as it chats at me than it likes to mess with my head. But the first time the Matrix spoke at me, I was informed that none of the pronouns we use are accurate for use in regards for the Matrix. And that if I wanted to know the right one, it's a combination of he, she, and it.

Well let me know when you have it up, I'm looking forward to it.

GUNGAN! Now, which of the Cybertronians would sound funniest speaking Gungan... maybe Soundwave? Or Optimus?

27. To satisfy his need to do stunt flying and the occasional stupid trick, Starscream has taken up flying with a bunch of human military stunt pilots/test pilots.

Starscream gets a human flock! *loves* Actually, now I really want to see Starscream commanding human fliers.

oh, i wish i could to. but for some reason, i can't ever get the dynamics to work right and the fic just ends up as fail and gets deleted.

i really, really hope someone writes it.

#28 is hilarious!!

And I think Thrust would be awesome for #27 :3

[identity profile] liin-jen.livejournal.com 2008-12-08 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
I feel a bit awkward coming into this, but, I've been debating over # 9 and # 11. I would like to give those a try...

Hopefully they won't come out too slaggin' weird.

[identity profile] liin-jen.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
Well, # 9 has been completed. The other one is proving to be difficult.

This is why I never kept bunnies in real life. xD

[identity profile] liin-jen.livejournal.com 2008-12-11 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I wasn't sure where to post it, so I just set it up on my journal.

I'm really bad at putting up links, I've only been on LJ for, like... what, a month?

I would support a discussion comm for TFs.

[identity profile] puffitheinsane.livejournal.com 2009-03-31 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
Did you ever make that com? Because I would love to join if you did.

[identity profile] puffitheinsane.livejournal.com 2009-03-31 04:43 pm (UTC)(link)
It's fine- I nearly forgot I made [livejournal.com profile] universal_laws. XD

Oh god, I can thinks up character names all day long, but fic and comm names? I fail. EPICALLY.

Of course we could be sister comms!

*headdesk* I wake up with 7 requests to join and EVERY SINGLE ONE came within ten minutes of my signing off.

[identity profile] puffitheinsane.livejournal.com 2009-03-31 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay! And god knows I'll wind up adopting one of your bunnies- I swear to Primus I get a bunny from pretty much every post.

Ah. I used a fic name of mine. XD

*snort* Oh, sweet irony. A universal law being applied to [livejournal.com profile] universal_laws.

[identity profile] teh-gelfling.livejournal.com 2012-02-05 10:30 am (UTC)(link)
I wrote a little something for #15. http://teh-gelfling.livejournal.com/2373.html
