A rather dark bunny

There's several Allspark!Sam fics where he gets captured/tortured by Simmons/revamped S7. I suddenly heard this line in my head.

Sam: What am I doing? Well, Reggie, I'm trying to decide whether or not to kill you, everyone who was in Sector 7 and anyone else in the government that you reported to and/or let you run free with your little, black-ops, alien-tech-acquisition agenda. You know, I'm usually a pretty easy-going guy, but after the utter, fucking hell you put me through...that kinda leaves a mark on you.

I like it. Sometimes I think Sam is written too nice, what with all the crap he goes through in fics.

Love this bunny. It does seem that Sam gets written as way too nice and naive of a guy a lot. Sure, he can be an adorkable character but put anyone through hell, and they're not exactly going to be all sunshine and roses after it. 'Bout time he fought back. Especially, if the ones he cares for are put through the same hell as he was. You know, do what you want with me, but leave my loved ones alone?

I don't know why, but this bunny seems very fitting for Sam. I always thought there must have been some darker core in him. Not many can get through the things he has and stay as 'innocent' as he is often portrayed.

Or they are so scared of being OOC that they just never develop him in their fics.

On the other hand, that Peter Pan syndrome sounds logical. That is, if one takes it in the same spin as Batman does. I always thought Pan was quite a bit blood-thirsty in the book, with his game with Hook.

Didn't someone once say that anything can be written and believed as long as it is written well?

I was thinking about that as well.

That's why I always think of Bats when it's mentioned. He's too frozen in a child's wish for making something right that cannot be changed.

On the other hand, can this even be used to describe the way Sam it written sometimes? I just cannot see him as young or a child. He's what... 18 in the movie? That makes the character inexperienced, but not young in my opinion.

I firmly believe the "everything can work if written well" school of thought.
