They do say having a pet helps people, and even though the sparklings aren't "pets" it still might help, especially when one of the seekers are still around.
I'm already picturing the Aerialbots coming back to the base, confused and with no instinct which will soon be replaced by Air Raid or Fireflight napping with a few Sparklings :3
