XD .. I've touched on the Transformer reproduction myself. mostly cross dimensional stuff. TFs discovering that splitting can't happen, but damn... what they have as a reproductive alternative ain't bad either!!!
I've also seen TFs as herms. I'd not considered the animus idea tho. Must explore that later ^.^
