Beast Planet = Unicron?

Ok, I was just watching the first espiode of this old tv show called Shadow Raiders on reruns on YTV. It is really good series, from the people that brought us Beast Wars and Reboot. It is about this four planets that form this alliance to fight against a common threat.

A giant planet-eating planet....

I couldn't help myself, I just had related the Beast Planet with Unicron. They were pretty much alike. Not to much that the Beast Planet was never actually destroy. Could Unicron with an upgrade Beast Planet or the Beast Planet actually be Unicron? Would the likes of the Alliance run into Transformers from Cybertron?

Just putting it out there.
