Gender Changing

Movie-verse bunny! 

After a documentary on gender-changing fish, this came to mind.  These fish start out all female, but eventually the larger ones change gender.  The new "males" then end up going on to have a harem of female mates.  And if the male dies, the next largest female will become "male"


Got me wondering, what if the Cybertronians were like this.  Gender has nothing to do with their outer shells and more to do with producing eggs and fertilizing them.  What if Megatron and Optimus are the "males" and the all the other Cybertronians are females? 


(and if Optimus dies, then Hot Rod changes gender and is re-named Rodimus... the name change could be symbolic of the gender change)  Optimus has his harem of Autobots and Megatron has a harem of Decepticons.
