23. Actually, there is a condition where humans have no pain receptors. It's not like leprosy, but it does have it's own set of problems. Pain lets you know when something is wrong or you're doing something stupid. Suppose you spill some water on you. It was hot enough to scald you, but you don't realize it until you look down and realize the skin doesn't look right. Or you cut yourself and don't realize it until you see your blood. It is quite terrifying.
