I think the "Bluestreak shoots lightning" thing is from the original toy bio. I've never seen it outside of the price guide. It may be one of those obscure facts that didn't make it into any other canon.
The only time my name got really awkward was when someone once automatically assumed I could speak swedish- which I can not.
Ha! That would be awkward, yes. My name tends to cause some ethnic confusion; I'm the only one of us with this name who isn't black.
