I like the idea of 11 - maybe the fights between the two are their way of re-balancing things, and Unicron being a planet Eater is his way of carrying out his role - the universe needs it fair share of destruction, so Unicron embodies it by destroying planets where needed. That's what I was thinking. It's kinda like with Set--he's the god of chaos, storms and the desert, all of which can be pretty bad for people's health. Yet he's also Ra's most powerful guardian on the sun god's nightly trips through the Duat. The only reason people consider him the embodiment of evil is that the followers of Horus merged him with Apep during the Third Intermediate Period.
