My first bunny, a very long bunny.

'Lo everyone, I'm Wizzere and I'm, obviously, new here. I hope I did all the tags and such right, I really don't have any clue on how to do this -those stupid cuts confused me more than it should have- .Anyway, this has been bugging me, so here:

A cheery blue is the default color of all Cybertronians, regardless of faction, 'bots just either added lenses or manually changed their colors, by adding a 'virus' to their programming. During the beginning war, the natural blue came to symbolize how they wanted Cybertron to be saved, preserved, kept the same, and so on, while red optics signified how they wanted change, this is going by how at first the 'Cons were freedom fighters that got corrupted along the way with 'bots and 'cons eventually switching positions -though some 'bots did want reform, just in a less bloody way-. Everyone pretty forgot all about the color difference and through time, corruption, and propaganda red optics came to be symbolize the evil Deceptions and blue optics for the heroic Autobots. (Purple came to symbolize those who were neutral, either be the ‘virus’ loosing hold, or some other reason.)
Now, millions of years in the war, everyone forgot all about natural optic color. (Very few sparklings were born, so there were no reminders, and the few who had either became Autobots or had the Red 'con programming in their CPU’s.).

However, some bots were born with 'glitches', different color optics. Those bots would either:

1.1 Be referred to as nobility, treated special, like kings, and protected against everything, etcetera.

1.2 Shamed. They were different, glitches to society and were left out on the streets to perish and live hard lives. They were ridiculed by nearly everybody.

1.3 They were born with special abilities, such as (Maybe...) Warping, changing form, telepathy, super speed, invisibility…

1.4 This one might go into tf-kink territory, but breeders. They had the ability to either get sparked rather quickly, where for most Cybertronians it takes centuries for conception, spark themselves, split their spark, or have multiple sparks no problem, whereas it’s very dangerous to normal bots. They also rumored to be amazing interface partners...

1.5 Status rank. Maybe if you had golden eyes, (This is partly canon) you were born in nobility after a precise amount of generations of other nobles. Green if you grew up in the slums, the contaminated energon either in the 'womb' or as a sparkling mutated them and leads to 1.2. Or something likes that.

No matter the situation, those rare bots either knew they had to leave the situation and go to war or just couldn't stand what the color brought them and wanted to fight and be 'normal', for whatever reason, they changed their optic color, like so many others. Whether they just wore lenses, changed their programming, or just wore visors, they did  something to change their rare optic color.

Now, it’s years and years later in the war, where nearly everyone has forgotten about it, only a very select few didn’t, -possible those with rare optics themselves- but something happened. Maybe it was one of Wheeljack’s inventions or their bodies finally rejected whatever had been done to them, but everyone reverted back to their natural optic color. Now that those few have been found out, certain things happened. They:

1.1 Were treated back like that once again, the war even stopping -they could get hurt! - To treat the war hardened bots like precious, newborn sparklings. Much to those bots annoyances who seriously wish the war would just start up again.

1.2 No one did accept them and eventually they despised that they were friendless, broken sparked/hearted, lost all their power and respect, and so, for whatever reason, they left. So those bots started own faction to get the respect they deserved, to once again have friends, or revenge.

1.2b They were possibly accepted by their comrades, so the bots from the opposite faction left to go join the later where they would be respected and treated fair. After all, why should you fight for someone who wants you dead?

1.3 Nothing really changed, everyone was simply used to it. Skywarp, for example, warping around wouldn’t stun anyone into shock. Neither would Blurr running around top speed really make most bots really shocked. Nothing happens, except their optics showing.

1.3b but then again, they DO have those magnificent powers. Everyone thinks that that makes sense to want those genes passed down to their own offspring, and those bots are suddenly being courted.

1.4 The obvious in this situation occurs. Everyone wants to breed with them and have lil' sparks, so those bots are suddenly the most desired things in the universe to them. The war even stopping, to court certain bots, after all, silly factions shouldn't have an account on 'love'. Of course, this is much to all those bots horror.

1.5 Refer to 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3.

Bonus: None of the visored bots want -or even do, if they’re sneaky enough- to give up therevisors. No doubt they're not only sanctuary and ingrained habits for those bots, but even customized.

Shit. I think I might just write this now that I accedently planned it all out.... Well, what do you guys think? Hall'ova lot for my first post

ext_18500: My non-fandom OC Oraania. She's crazy. (White Magnus)

I can't help think of Ultra Magnus. Canonically, White Magnus - Magnus when he doesn't have the familiar red, white and blue armour on (see icon) and looks like a white version of Optimus - has red optics.

I usually take this to mean that when he got that armour he either has a visor, fake optics, or even a whole fake faceplate, that hides his original optic colour.

I also like to think of green as an exulted colour, which may be the influence of other fandoms, but I can't help recall a few pictures where green is Unicron's eye colour, so maybe in Cybertronian society green is considered cursed because of that (which may link into your idea of green being a slum colour too - slum dwellers having green optics due to bad diet may be used by some as "proof" that green is evil - the "corruption" of slum life (pollution, bad energonm etc) shows up in the optics as green, the colour of Unicron).

Gold as either high class or special ability is fine with me (it could be both - the upper classes value special abilities and tried to cultivate them, so gold optics became more common amongst them), but the one colour I'd like to add is white.

White optics could be considered holy, even possibly an avatar of Primus himself (in a similar way that the Dalai Lama is believed to be a reincarnated Dalai Lama from the past). Maybe with the war, some mechs who used to be these exalted religious icons got out of the temple and hid behind the faction colours (red or blue) to put that life behind them and just fight alongside all the other mechs fighting for what they believe.

Two candidates for this I have thought of is that Orion Pax was originally onlined with white optics. His creators may have hid him early on, but maybe the one other mech who knew, the one who did the actual job of changing his optic colour - Alpha Trion - always remembered, and kept track of him because he thought Orion was, legitimately, a special mech sent by Primus. This actually proved true after Orion took up the Matrix and Optimus became the greatest Prime in history.

Another is Soundwave. He still has his white optics, but they are hidden behind his visor. This is rather linked to the idea of Soundwave being a priest before the war. He believed in early Decepticon ideals of change, and stays loyal to the cause because he still believes them, even if many of the Decepticons (including Megatron) have lost their way.

As for how everyone reacts, well I'd want some reaction over it. Also differing reactions for the Decepticons to the Autobots. The 'Bots would probably over all be more accepting, though maybe some bad reactions to natural red-optic'd mechs, and green if they know the old stories about Unicron. 'Cons may be a lot harsher, reacting badly to blue optics, looking closer at the abilities of gold, mixed reaction to green (depends on what their general mindset on Unicron is) and white (also, their opinion on the Church of Primus).
