Like why some Bots have red optics, when everyone knows Decepticons are red-eyed, Autobots are blue optics.
Don't forget that in G1 cartoon, there were no permanent deaths. (Granted, 1980's kids show, but it's a great excuse). - and except for Megatron, it seems like none of the Autobots/Decepticons want to KILL mechs on the other side. Disable, yes. Subdue, yes. Harm ... maybe. but permanently destroy?
