Maybe Inferno wants to bond with Red Alert to heal his glitch, but he can't because that would also remove the abilities that make him such a good security officer. So they defect to the Decepticons.
Ok, that is a cool idea. Although, how would the bots *stop* them? Red's the one with the cameras, and as a last ditch effort, it's not like the two of them couldn't just coordinate patrol schedules and do it then (no pun intended). They might not like the other autobots much at that point, but they still believe in cause...(and I just spawned another bunny)

Unless it was Starscream, who was responsible for Megatron E-mails by sending the first one to him, which pointed the resemblance.
