But there WAS a character called Perceptor in either Armada or Energon! Drastically different dude, yes, but he was a Perceptor!
Plus, there are those rumours that Perceptor is going to show up in the next season of TF:Ani. I hope these rumours are true...
It could also be that Perceptor couldn't adjust to being back in his original form because he spent too much time as 'Nijika'. So he might have switched to a different form and changed his name...
I like that explanation so much better, actually. (Maybe he went back to the Nijika body? He's like a Transformer transgender!)
