Greetings, fellow victims of the plot bunny. Here’s one I just thought up for a different pairing and some Sam angst.
It has been two years (or time preference) since the Allsparks destruction and his relationship with Mikaela is getting serious. She pops the question (or the other way). Except, with talk of kids and such joys, Sam notices something: when he reaches into his pocket to get change, he pulls out nothing as if the metal was absorbed by his hands; his soda can suddenly starts leaking because some of the metal disappears off the sides; and then there’s the topper … he watches as his ring is absorbed by his skin. He knows what is happening; he is becoming a mech/allspark.
In the dead of night, he leaves Mikaela to spare her. She wants kids and the basic American life. He can’t give her that, so he goes to Miles and asks him to take care of her, since he can no longer and to promise to never told anyone (human or Cybertronian) what happened to him due to his shame. A few years later, Mikaela realizes that she’s being watched and thinks it’s a ‘Con. She calls the Autobots. Miles can only watch in horror as his old buddy is attacked, with him unable to say anything.
You decide how it ends. Personally, I’d go after the angst.
