Cybertron Science/War Academy bunny

This is inspired loosely by various bunnies and fics I've read recently involving pre-war settings and the Cybertron Science and/or War Academy (they usually featured, Starscream, his wing-mates and/or Skyfire):

Has anyone written a slew of Harry-Potter-esque (read: exploits of British-type students at boarding school) stories in any TF 'verse?

I have not personally seen this, but it sounds like something one would/should be able to find on the internets. Not a cross-over, mind you, but a series of stories about youthful transformers who are in a boarding school and have to overcome villains, disasters, and academic challenges, whilst 'coming of age' and finding themselves and their romantic interests? Like TFA's bootcamp, but a boarding school, sorta.

Seems adaptable for various 'verses. Could be G1 pre-war or post/during season 3. Could be TFA at some point. Also good opportunity for an AU Academy!verse, drawing suitable kid-appeal or aged-down versions of characters from various other 'verses. For example, aged-down versions of Beast Wars 2nd Starscream and BB would make an excellent start for a clique, gang, or pair of bully/henchmechs.

Same Autobot/Decepticon rivalry, but instead of active war, they are competing cliques or houses in the boarding school.

Also, nice opportunity for a fictional sport or two, not to mention other extra-curricular teams: jetjudo, ninjabot skills, chess, 'track'.

Kid-appeal characters could populate the younger 'years': G1 or TFA Bumblebee, GI Hot Rod, Armada or TFA Hot Shot, Energon Ironhide, RID Side Burn, BW Cheetor, Armada Sideswipe, G1 or 07 Wheelie, etc. Laughter.

Your bunny bit and bit HARD!!

Whoops - forgot to mention. My key things in writing are attention to detail and military/medical accuracy. I have some *ahem* extensive experience with mil stuff, and can recreate a Army/Navy Academy for you easily. So it's not going to be kiddy type, but serious war-games and pre-war/faction forming type stuff.

Retain affiliations "houses" thingys, yes I have created a sport, I've delineated whose upper and lower "classmen" already (think like looong term Officer Training schools as opposed to kiddie schools.

Sounds good. I am happy to have played muse. I can see how one might fear aging down the characters too much, so as to lose a mature audience or just become too silly and juvenile in plot. So, I agree that a setting more alike a university-level military academy than a British boarding school would be quite appropriate to this fandom.

In such a setting there would still be room for characters to struggle with their own inexperience (a bit like the Arialbots are sometimes treated in fanfics as showing youthful recklessness, wide-eyed wonder, reluctance to lead, or slight incompetence, because they were created only years ago, not millions of years ago), but also to be plausibly able to deal with the reality of war, military training and serious or adult concepts.

Any inspiration as to which characters to feature?

In any case, I will wait for Crash Into You to be completed and look forward to this in the future.

I checked out your (shamelessly plugged) fic. It's great. Excellent use of G1 characters; believable tech/weapons/medicine/science; intriguing plot, with escalating conflict.

It would be awesome if you took on this bunny. I would read.
