First time posting a bunny. Yey.
Anyway, I was thinking lately about seekers, and I kinda realised something: Starscream is kinda Mary-Sue-ish, ain't he? I mean:
1) he's beautiful
2)he's a genius
3)he's got a tragic past
4) he's the best flyer like evah
5) he's the SIC and Air Commander
So, the bunny is as follows:
Make Starscream a Mary-Sue! As in every bot or con he encouters get hot under the hood in a matter of moments, and do everything possible to make Starscream his (cue battle of a thousand mechs fighting each other for the honor of wooing our fav seeker). And I'd love it till death if Starscream, in reaction, was WTF like all the time. ^__^

Date: 2009-10-27 07:25 am (UTC)Though I don't know about despairing - he'd be a Mary-Sue. They'd probably just be like 'Oh, look how cute and adorable he is as he is conquering the Earth!' ^__^

Date: 2009-10-28 12:51 am (UTC)The Starscream in question is from another 'verse in the TF multi-verse, thus he has the suddenly and non-canonically appearing presence of a sue.
Screamy-sue enters the verse through some TF type plot device: he goes 'through' a singularity, there's a space bridge 'accident', etc.
Screamy-sue is a Starscream that is better in some way than the indigenous Starscream. He's more competent or more loyal or more powerful or more successful. For example, a TFA screamy-sue in a G1 verse is likely more powerful and competent at taking out Autobots, and arguably more persistent than native Starscream at attempting to overthrow Megatron, even though he's similarly disloyal and fails at actually overthrowing Megatron. An Armada Screamy-sue is actually more loyal than most other Starscreams (except maybe Energon or arguably Movie) and thus better from megatron's POV.
Of course, everyone loves Screamy-sue. And Screamy-sue has abilities they did not know their indigenous Starscream to have. Maybe his null rays take out buildings or make things explode instead of just disrupting electrical systems (this is actually true for some 'verses). Also, in Sue fashion, Screamy-sue has an unusual color scheme compared to the native characters and Starscream. (like G1 Screamy in a movie verse would have, or Shattered Glass Screamer in most other 'verses). Also, Screamy-sue is revealed to be related to another powerful and popular character. (Maybe some space-time traveling spark was involved or transwarping or something.)
Anyone who was paired with any Starscream in any 'verse (canon or popular fanon) loves Screamy-sue: Megatron, Optimus, Skyfire, Jetfire, Skywarp, Thundercracker, Swindle, Red Alert, all door-wingers and/or lambos and/or arielbots and/or seekers and/or combaticons and/or clones, Barricade, Alexis, Arkeville, Soundwave, Scourge, Blackarachnia. Everyone.
Other character like Screamy-sue, of course, whether it be friendship, respect or purely physical.
Indigenous Starscream thinks he hates Screamy-sue, but ultimately is too egotistical to not fall for their similarities and Starscream/Starscream action must take place (amongst all the rest).
There is some universe-endangering big bad, maybe it even entered the 'verse along with Screamy-sue. So, of course Screamy-sue is the only one who can devise how to defeat it and is of course also integral to the plan.
Screamy-sue gets all the best one-liners and monologues, naturally.
Screamy-sue does not perceive himself as quite as special as everyone else, though Screamy-sue, being a Starscream has a healthy ego.
Screamy-sue is both the best fighter and the best scientific mind, of course! Oh, and the best flier. (And probably the best at whatever intimate things he does.)
If there's newsparks involved, Screamy-sue is of course either exceptionally virile or magically able to avoid unwanted newsparks, whichever the other characters view as the better.
Even if puzzled by all the motivation behind the attention and claiming to focus on the big bad, Screamy-sue has the time for deep philosophical conversations or just a few intimate decacycles with who ever he chooses, and does enjoy the results of the attention.
Even taking time for all of this, Screamy-sue is exactly right on time to defeat the big bad. (Because, he knows as long as he does not fall asleep in a certain berth or enter a certain town, the big bad will never proceed.)
Blah
Date: 2009-10-28 04:08 am (UTC)*cackles* I'm just imagining your plot outline narration as a Nature Channel documentary on the Starscream armadus species, versus its cousins, the Starscream mirrus, etc.
"The Screamy-Sue is a member of the Starscrema genus, so named for its Marysue-ish characteristics. When taken from its natural habitat..."
