This reminds me of a bunny that was nibbling at me: Transformers "Quidditch".
Why isn't there a sport with elements of Jet Judo (goal there being to disrupt the flight of jets with hand-to-hand techniques), but which is more a team sport with goals, boundaries, 'balls', played by flight-capable Transformers? (Similar to above bunny, but not necessarily with enemy combatants as props, because they would just be bonus.)
Who wrote about Storm Tag? (I think that's a fanon Seeker pastime.)
Anyway, I want to write about the fictional sport Seekers and other flight types know how to play, but I can't decide what the name of the sport is, and what the specific rules may be.
It needs a cool name to catch on in the fandom.
I would guess boundaries depend on 'house rules' or the available 'field'.
There would be official goal markers and 'balls', but it would be possible to designate makeshift ones for impulse pick-up games.
I envision something to test flight capability, teamwork, strategy and skills in marksmechship and aerial stunts. Perhaps combining elements of Rowling's Quidditch, with Jousting, Jet Judo and Tag.
House rules, home advantage or challenging party may decide whether special abilities and custom mods are fair play or not.
Also, envisioning a jet purposely going into a spin to hit (or bat or kick) a ball into goal with their aft section. (Not that this is actually very plausible, it would just seem really cool.)
Madwriter223 did a wonderful little drabble for me thats in this comment thread, but i'd also love to see it as a full oneshot with the other autobots reactions(i'm predicting laughter)
Giggling madly, Skywarp caught the flailing 'ball' and, after spinnnig around a few times, threw it straight at Thundercracker. At the same time, Starscream threw another bundle of screeching cable at him, aiding its trajectory with a kick to the aft. Thundercracker dipped slightly lower to avoid getting hit by the two, said two slamming facial-plates first into each other moments later. As they started to fall, the blue seeker nimbly grabbed them, separated the madly shuddering bodies, and threw them back at his trinemates. There was nothing like a game of catch while high up in the air. Maybe expect playing catch with the Autobot Twins, that is.
Thankyou, that was so fun to read. It made me laugh loudly at 6:30am which made my family give me weird looks (i'm not a morning person). i'm glad that it bit you.
