"Incredible..." Perceptor breathed, the look on his face quite literally "kid in a candy store".
Or, as close to "breathing" Mendel could approximate for a tall ("giant" had been long reserved for "crazy mutations or creatures or things 50 stories tall that would like to make a lunch of the team and NIGEL and then have the next town for dessert") robotic alien who could compact into something so mundane as a tabletop microscope perfect for biology class. Although the amount of mass that would needed to be shunted in the process was making his head hurt when he thought up the laws of thermal dynamics. Not to mention the energy that would be required...
"A creature born of a previously mutated creature..." Skyfire murmured, staring at the being-treated and wary "son" of Nick with equal awe, his scientific mind going through every biological data he had gathered. They were used to gestalts, and after hearing the encounter with organic aliens larger than they were, it was a marvel to see one on Earth. An animal Godzilla may be, but the enormous lizard displayed amazing intelligence, outsmarting and letting the Decepticons wind up eating their own attacks very quickly during an attempted raid at the space shuttle's rocket fuel storage. Loyalty was another thing, no doubt the filial imprinting on Doctor Tatopoulos soon after his hatching. Skyfire was glad that he had been brushing up his animal behavioral studies.
"So, you guys gonna be hanging around here long?" Randy cheekily spoke up, munching away on a Snickers while perched on a piece of asphalt that was originally part of Florida State Road 528 from Cape Canaveral's side.
"Until we finish our geological and biological surveys," Hound answered, taking as many holos as possible as well recording. Beachcomber was also taking down notes, grilling poor Elsie who was appearing a bit frazzled but her posture and attitude was that of enjoyment on meeting a fellow scientist who wasn't the cause of the mess around them, Well, not the direct cause, at least.
Caine raised an eyebrow at the green scout's words as he ducked under the tape. "Then I hope your stay will be comfortable. I'll have to process all of you for evidence and elimination. Someone with enough brains tipped off the Decepticons about the new rocket fuel test."
"Is that truly necessary?" Not a happy French security detail.
A bright smile from Calleigh, snapping on gloves. "The sooner we process you, the sooner you folks can go back to driving Detective Taylor up the wall."
"Aw, c'mon! The loonies back home in the Big Apple drives him nuts without us even lifting a finger! Well, 'cept maybe that one time when that one loco made those giant roaches..."
