So, I seem to remember Starscream mysteriously managing to get himself out of stasis cuffs at least once in TFA. This morning, I was wondering what the most cannon explanation was. Well, what other way do we get to see mechs removing stasis cuffs on-screen? Processor over matter!

So maybe Starscream can use processor over matter, which makes him an in-the-closet cyberninja. Starscream, a cyberninja.

lolwut? Viable?

maybe he did manage to master process over matter, but he sucked in every other area that he got kicked out. That's why he's also able to roll around and manouver as just a head.

In the episode in which Starscream is being hunted by Prowl and Lockdown in the Nemesis wreck on Luna, we can infer from evidence presented after the fact that another Starscream or clone released the one in the cuffs, without Prowl seeing, or yet being aware of their existence.

However, in the comic Rise of Safeguard, Starscream just "shorts out" the stasis cuffs without any explanation as to how this is possible. The art just shows a sort of glow or explosive energy coming from the seam of the cuffs as they rip open.

Also, doesn't Swindle market a device that deactivates stasis cuffs? Starscream could have concealed such a device on his person.

But, all of that is not really reason to deny that Starscream could have Cyberninja training or knowledge. It's fanfiction, so any other plausible excuse would do. Maybe he just downloaded the code for it from someone else, like Prowl or Lockdown or Arcee, like the Autobots just somehow downloaded all his codes in order to make Jetfire and Jetstorm. The difference would be that he has all the technical knowledge to be a cyberninja, without the actual experience of undergoing training or exercise himself. It could then be that he has difficulty with certain techniques that require mental discipline, because he never acquired the discipline, but only stole the knowledge. To me, this would make for more interesting conflict.

Mental Discipline? Starscream? He's notorious for letting his emotions get the best of him. He's too obsessive and vengeful to understand zen-anything. He can't 'let go'.

That would be quite plausible, as well.

Sorry, but the title "screamer as ninja" gave me this awesome mental image of Screamer all dressed up in black lycra with a little headband.
Do with that what you will, I'm gonna go giggle ina corner now.
