Most mechs don't know what Cliffjumper's job was before the war. This is because he had a very... specialized clientele. Basically, Cliffjumper was a pleasurebot catering to other mini-types, minibot fetishists, and those who had specific wants or needs. He kept a very careful, very secret list of his clients sorted by their preferences and made sure to keep them happy whenever in their company. Then the war picked up, he took his savings to upgrade his armour so that he wouldn't get killed five seconds into a battle, and retired from the business.

Well... mostly retired.

Some of his former clients are soldiers on both sides of the war. The ones amongst the Autobots trust that Cliffjumper will continue to be as discreet as he was back in the day (he is) and a few of them still seek his assorted services in exchange for shift trades or favours (even when he insists it's not necessary). The ones amongst the Decepticons pretty much keep their big mouths shut, as they might be Bad-Ass Mofos but they still kind of like the little slagger (and the last time Cliffjumper was captured as a prisoner, one of said former clients utilized his counseling services to bitch about how much better things were before they crashed on Earth).

Unfortunately, it seems like the secret might not be one for too much longer.
