I've started reading 'Dune Messiah' and it struck me - Movieverse Ironhide is a Mentat.

Which leads to today's bunny (If you're unfamiliar with the series, notes are below the bunny):

Cybertron is run similar to the empire Paul rules in the Dune books. Computers run certain things, but individuals, specially trained since babies (Or in this case, sparklings) are trusted to record, remember and aid public officials. Which is why Ironhide's always around Optimus. Mentats are said to only be able to  report the truth and have difficulty lying due to their training.

Also, what if part of the reason femmes were so rare was because they were Bene Gesseit and systematically killed off.

What if Optimus is the result of a Bene Gesserit breeding program to produce a Kwaisatz Haderach? What if he IS the Kwaisatz Haderach and received the Matrix because of it?

Extra points if you can make Jolt or any of the others on earth into a Mentat.

Now for definitions:

Mentat- Human trained since a baby to act as a living, organic computer capable of remembering things due to extreme training and skill. (This just SCREAMS Ironhide and Shockwave to me)

Bene Gesserit - Women (Always women. ALWAYS, with the one exception) who are exceptionally trained to read people's emotions and intents by watching body language, tone of voice and numerous other ways. Sneaky. Dangerous. Manipulative. Have the ability to control others by the tone of their voice. Can predict the future. Tend to be secretive and have a private breeding program to produce a B.G.  (Pretty much all femmes)

Kwaisatz Haderach - Male Bene Gesserit. Only one. Males die during one of the ceremonies that make one a B.G., but the B.G. said one male would survive to become a messiah of sorts. The most powerful B.G. (Optimus. Megatron?)
