G1 Sunstreaker idea

tf_bunny_farmEverybody knows the Autobots are really accepting and all that, but the whole dangerously-sociopathic!Sunstreaker semi-canon thing still bugs me. If he was THAT dangerous and anti-social, wouldn't the Autobots be a little more wary of him? Wouldn't his first instinct be to go to the Decepticons? Wouldn't he be unwilling to do anything whatsoever for anybody, even Sideswipe? Then I started thinking...
... maybe, at least in the cartoon, Sunstreaker's like Rarity from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. He's vain, a bit of a snob, yeah, but DAMN IT HE IS GONNA BE YOUR FRIEND. I mean, being friends with him is the best thing that can happen to a mech, isn't it? He's got enough style to carry three mechs less pretty than him, and EVERYBODY is less pretty than him.
He'd be the kind of guy that'd go "Holy slag, who did your paint job? It's dreadful. You are NOT leaving until I fix it. Hold still. You poor little thing. You're so lucky you met me today. What's your name, anyway?"
(Meanwhile Sideswipe's in the back with a slag-eating grin going "No, I'm not getting into this.")
