Something happens that makes Wheeljack really upset. He works in secret on something new. One day on the battlefield, he goes against all orders and activates his new weapon. A small object seeks out Megatron's spark signature, magnetizes to his outer armor, melts its way inside, and explodes his spark.

Wheeljack quietly announces over a public frequency that whoever's in charge of the Decepticon army enter peace talks with Prime, because he's through being reasonable.

Why yes, I do love the thought of mad scientists/engineers solving problems their own way.
