Another fifteen.
1. Cassette players aren’t the only types of human technology that logically, have ‘children’ (the cassettes). Microscopes have slides and different sets of lenses, don’t they? And microscopes show the contents of the slides like cassette players show the contents of cassettes.
2. Perceptor as a Dinobot.
“Although there is no direct way to measure a dinosaur's intelligence, one of the few possible measures of intelligence might be a large brain in a small body. The genus that perhaps fits this description best was the Cretaceous bird-like dinosaur Troodon, which also may have had binocular vision (depth perception) and excellent eyesight and was built for speed...” From: http://www.factmonster.com/ipka/A0862627.html,
3. Sudden cracky idea. What with mechs getting pregnant and all…
A. Elita-1 gets Optimus pregnant.
B. Chromia gets Ironhide pregnant.
C. Arcee gets Hot Rod/Rodimus/Springer pregnant.
D. Etc.
4. Prowl infects all the other Autobots with his logical-ness. The ‘Bots who are usually illogical are hit hardest, and become logical to the point of near-ruthlessness.
A. Of course, the ‘Bots immediately ditch the humans (an inexcusable liability, war-wise).
B. The ‘Bots obsessively focus every second of their lives on winning the war for good (because even if some little piece of illogical affection toward the humans remained, it would be logical to focus on destroying all the ‘Cons so the humans would be safe).
C. The Decepticons are horrified as the Autobots go on the offensive for once… and win every battle with their superior strategies.
D. Having lost the advantage of passive, non-attacking enemies, the ‘Cons are struggling to survive. No one can get close enough to the ‘Bots to try and reverse the terrible logic-glitch.
1) The Decepticons try sending a paid human agent, reasoning that the sentimental Autobots would at least hear the person out. The Autobots capture the human, and when he claims to be a ‘Con representative they deduce that he is a spy or saboteur and kill him.
2) To fend off the Autobot attacks, the ‘Cons must join up with Spike, Sparkplug, and Carly. The three of them had been present at enough meetings to know something of how Prowl’s logic works, and as humans they have creative and irrational thinking to find ways to counter the logical strategies. Because Prowl would never predict that their former human allies would join forces with the ‘Cons. That’s completely illogical! So, all of Prowl’s strategies have little human-sized holes in them…
3) The Autobots somehow lay siege to the Decepticon base. The only way for them to avoid starving to death is getting humans to send an energy-carrying submarine that can somehow dodge Seaspray.
5. The Decepticons are surprised to discover just how cynical some ‘Bots can be.
6. “Some people are like Slinkies; they’re basically useless, but when you see one fall down the stairs you can’t help but smile.” (Megatron & Starscream?)
7. A long time ago, Scavenger’s kleptomania drove him to steal something from Primus.
8. (Art or fic) Ratchet cowering before someone else’s wrench-throwing rage.
9. The 'Cons were originally all clones created by a mad Autobot scientist. The mech cloned was an insane 'Bot named Barricade, who insisted that there was another type of mech besides Autobots, the 'Decepticons' who were sworn to destroy the Autobots at all costs. When the Autobot scientist tried to manipulate the Barricade clones into developing a sense of individuality (because the scientist wanted to study the many different facets of the original Barricade's insanity), all but one of the clones became too different from the original to be of use in the experiment.
10. Unicron destroys every Cybertronian except for one, whom he takes a shine to. He holds that mech prisoner, doomed to watch from afar as the same universe is created and destroyed over and over... without him in it.
11. Perceptor is captured by the 'Cons, and by the time he's recovered, he's been permanently traumatized. Optimus has his memories erased, and makes an elaborate plan to keep Perceptor basically imprisoned in certain separate areas of the
12. Perceptor/Inferno.
13. Inferno is always dragging Red Alert to the medbay, panicking that he's glitching beyond repair. Everyone laughs at his mother-hen attitude, and usually Red Alert is given a quick check-up, then sent away with a mild order to 'take it easy for a little while'. But one day, Red glitches so badly that his 'horns' short-circuit and don't even light up. No one will believe Inferno when he insists that Red is on the verge of going crazy and ripping the
14. Instead of being way younger than he looks, Perceptor is actually by far the oldest mech on Earth. In fact, he's the only mech who's ever survived long enough to experience the Cybertronian equivalent of death from old age.
15. Starscream using his screechy voice for echolocation (like bats and dolphins).

I wonder who would throw back at him. For some reason I could see Arcee doing it. (Kinda like a "how dare you throw this at me!?" kinda thing.)
10. Unicron destroys every Cybertronian except for one, whom he takes a shine to. He holds that mech prisoner, doomed to watch from afar as the same universe is created and destroyed over and over... without him in it.
This would explain any G1 character that wasn't in any other incarnation of "Transformers".

...and this one would explain why he disappeared after "Face of the Nijika"... *is sad*

I'm expecting someone to say Perceptor any minute now...
This would explain any G1 character that wasn't in any other incarnation of "Transformers".
Yep. Also expecting someone to suggest Perceptor for this one.
...and this one would explain why he disappeared after "Face of the Nijika"... *is sad*
It could also be that Perceptor couldn't adjust to being back in his original form because he spent too much time as 'Nijika'. So he might have switched to a different form and changed his name...

See, I would, but we both know kirin-saga would want to. Why spoil fun for someone else?
Yep. Also expecting someone to suggest Perceptor for this one.
But there WAS a character called Perceptor in either Armada or Energon! Drastically different dude, yes, but he was a Perceptor!
Plus, there are those rumours that Perceptor is going to show up in the next season of TF:Ani. I hope these rumours are true...

I like that explanation so much better, actually. (Maybe he went back to the Nijika body? He's like a Transformer transgender!)

Yes, I want to. And I did! *is predictable*
But there WAS a character called Perceptor in either Armada or Energon! Drastically different dude, yes, but he was a Perceptor!
I saw a fic where Perceptor landed on a world with Minicons, got badly hurt, and was saved by placing his spark in a Gestalts body, thus creating Armada!Perceptor. I don't have the link but I think it was on the Lexicon.
Plus, there are those rumours that Perceptor is going to show up in the next season of TF:Ani. I hope these rumours are true...
Let me know if he does. I'll start watching it then.
... I hope he doesn't have one of those chins.

Now I want to see a fic where he didn't want to leave his Nijika body.

Nothing wrong with being predictable. It creates a comfort zone for the rest of us, if nothing else.

I don't know what the Lexicon is, but that's still intriguing. I still don't like Armada, but yes. (Personal preference. The only thing in the Energon trilogy I liked was Jetfire's Aussie accent in Cybertron. XD )
Let me know if he does. I'll start watching it then.
I'm sure someone will, if I don't remember to.
... I hope he doesn't have one of those chins.
The animation style does take some getting used to, yes, but it really isn't that bad.
Now I want to see a fic where he didn't want to leave his Nijika body.
Me too, actually. *Likes that little doll a little too much* Maybe when I'm less swamped... ._.
