I'm putting this one up for adoption mostly for two reasons: (1)I've already had three or four bunnies follow me home that are patiently waiting for me to pay attention to them, and (2)not a single aspect of this particular bunny will work in either those three or four potential fics or the movieverse story I'm in the midst of writing.
So, I'm releasing it here in hopes that it'll find a good home.
The Autobot scientists are starting to get tired of some (not all) of their inventions or ideas being disregarded. (It's not like Wheeljack caused those explosions on purpose, after all...) On the flip side, the scientifically-inclined Decepticons are getting fed up of the vast majority of their ideas and inventions being ignored if they aren't destructive. (And it doesn't matter what Megatron says, Hook still thinks the idea of refining the energon they gather for maximum purity and energy distribution is a good one.)
Finally coming to the conclusion that staying just isn't worth the frustration, the scientific minds of both factions leave their respective bases with the intention of defecting to the enemy that they hope will be more appreciative and wind up running into one another midway. Once they realize they're all pretty much in the same boat, they decide to form their own, third faction that isn't exactly pacifistic but not inclined to fight unless the need comes upon them. While the Autobots and Decepticons alike begin faltering without their missing scientists, the third faction is flourishing.
A. Eventually a truce is called for both sides to retrieve their people. Everyone is shocked that the scientists don't want to come back... and more than a few Autobots think the new faction might have the right idea.
B. Eventually the Decepticons locate the the new faction and attempt to subdue them through force. Who knew that Wheeljack, Perceptor, and Scrapper could cause that massive an explosion on purpose?
C. Eventually the Autobots locate the new faction and try to woo back their missing scientists as well as the Decepticon scientists amongst them. They are shocked to learn that this faction is quite content with their chosen leader, who is surprisingly competent at his job.
C1. The leader is Skyfire.
C2. The leader is Starscream.
C3. The leader is Perceptor.
C4. Leadership is split between three or four chosen commanders, who vote on decisions.
Yeah, I know. Damned thing is way more detailed than I thought it would be. I only wish I had the time to write it myself >_<

Date: 2008-09-25 09:29 pm (UTC)And it's about time everyone realized exactly how much they need them.
A. Eventually a truce is called for both sides to retrieve their people. Everyone is shocked that the scientists don't want to come back... and more than a few Autobots think the new faction might have the right idea.
And I bet the scientists are wondering why they hadn't thought of this sooner.
B. Eventually the Decepticons locate the the new faction and attempt to subdue them through force. Who knew that Wheeljack, Perceptor, and Scrapper could cause that massive an explosion on purpose?
Wheeljack, Perceptor, and Scrapper, working together, could destroy the entire solar system if they got it into their heads to do so.
C. Eventually the Autobots locate the new faction and try to woo back their missing scientists as well as the Decepticon scientists amongst them. They are shocked to learn that this faction is quite content with their chosen leader, who is surprisingly competent at his job.
The idea of them trying to woo the Autobot and Decepticon scientists... I'm picturing them showing up with giant boxes of energon-chocolates, flowering trees, and datapads filled with newly discovered sciencey things they had the Cybertron based Autobots send them.
C1. The leader is Skyfire.
He'd make a good leader. Calm, wise, and hard to overlook.
C2. The leader is Starscream.
*thinks* He does have leadership potential. If he's not concentrating on defeating Megatron and being better than Megatron, then I think he'd be a decent leader. Maybe even a great one if he did something about his ego.
C3. The leader is Perceptor.
Oddly enough, I don't think he should be. He's more than smart and wise enough to make a good leader, and he can be a kick-ass fighter if he puts his mind to it, but he's easily distracted and absentminded. And I really don't think he'd want to be leader.
C4. Leadership is split between three or four chosen commanders, who vote on decisions.
This is the best leadership set-up, I think. Skyfire, Perceptor, Starscream, and Scrapper would be on the committee; two Autobots and two Decepticons, with Skyfire and Starscream having the higher ranks and with Starscream being in charge of all military action (in case the Decepticons or the Autobots decide to attack).
I only wish I had the time to write it myself >_<
I wish I did, too. But I don't want to work on any other multi-chaptered fics (which this one sounds like) until I finish the one I'm currently working on.
