tf_bunny_farmYeah, one bunny, but it's a massive son of a glitch. I'm actually going to do this one myself, but wanted to share just to see how many variations of a theme we can come up with!
AU from the 1986 movie, meaning that who lives and dies (except for those named specifically) is up for grabs.
During their battle, Megatron kills Optimus by literally tearing the Matrix from his chest. He doesn't get to hold onto it for very long because the Seekers (Coneheads included) all have the same realization at once: Megatron plus the Matrix equals nothing good. Starscream shoots it from Megatron's hand and catches it, throwing it to one of the other Seekers before he is shot and seemingly killed. By the time all is said and done, three of the remaining five Seekers are dead and the other two seriously wounded in trying to get the Matrix back to the Autobots still close by.
One of the Decepticons (your choice of who) picks up the Matrix with the intention of returning it to his leader; however, the Matrix chooses that mech to be the new Prime. No matter how loyal a 'con he was before, the new Prime knows that the Autobots are his main concern now and turns on Megatron. The Decepticons retreat, leaving behind the dead and wounded Seekers. The new Prime decides to repair the two injured Seekers and see that all those who have fallen are given a decent burial. However, when the Autobots go to retrieve Starscream they discover that not only is he still alive but that his spark has altered (yes, the immortal spark comes into play at this point).
When next the Autobots and Decepticons meet, the Autobots arrive on the scene with _____ Prime and a Seeker trine lead by a reformatted Starscream. (my personal short-list of new designations for the "new" Screamer consists of Nova, Pulsar, and Stellar)
Like I said, I'm more than likely gonna take this one myself, but I'd love to see what someone else comes up with!

Date: 2008-10-18 03:30 pm (UTC)I will be interested to see the results of your writing of this, especially if you tackle the various reactions amongst the Autobots to their new leader, and his companions, and how everyone comes to terms with it (not to mention the Unicron situation going on in the background).
(P.S. Don't stint on Magnus either!)
