I've run across fics and bunny ideas of Datsuns, Lamborghinis, or both being some form of ground based seeker-kin or just being seekers who got reformatted into ground based forms. Well my mind decided to combine that in a different way. Specifically:
Datsuns/Lambos/Both are actually the youngling phase for Seekers, and after a certain time or event happens to come by their programing kicks in to ping adult seekers/medics/both that they are at the stage where they need to upgrade into an adult, flight capable body now. This being like how organic birds have to gain flight capable feathers before they are even pushed out of the nest for the first time.
A) Meaning that one or more of Prime's officers was technically not of age to be in the autobot army and were underage until recently.
B) Both sides now get to wonder if anyone of the autobot seekers are creations of any of the Decepticon seekers.
I plan to try and do this bunny myself, but I would really like to see what other people would take this bunny.

It could have also been perpetrated by the earliest of the Seekers, to help remind the other Seekers that just because they could fly, the ground pounders weren't beneath them. They once were part of the ground pounding faction, and it's the reason why no one has ever seen a sparkling Seeker before.
Of course, can you imagine everyones reaction when Breakdown turns out to be a Seeker?
Breakdown: *twitch* Impossible, me a Seeker?
TC: Oh crap, how are we gonna explain this? Ok, Breakdown, you know, before you came into the world with the rest of your gestalt, me and Skywarp were doing something called 'interfacing'
Ratchet: *facepalm* Sunstreaker, congratulations. You are now officiallly ready.
Sunstreaker: Ready for what? What about my twin? Where is he anyways?
Ratchet: *ignoring* Sunstreaker, why didn't you ever tell us? It wouldn't of hurt to tell us you were a Seeker!
Sunstreaker: I'm a WHAT? I'm not a Seeker!
Skywarp: Is that-
TC: Yep.
SW: But-
TC: Those three are.
SW: ... Do you think we should tell Starscream we finally found his lost Seeker twins?
...I'll stop now. I'm having waaaaayyyy to much fun with this.
(I think I was the first to ever come up with it, but I'd still like for it to be written- by someone other then me. DX But it makes a lot of sense. It's also why the twins tend to pick on the Datsun's more then any other model type it seems like.)

Date: 2009-08-30 12:28 am (UTC)Right, and considering how even in canon there is a push for the flight capable due to the war it wouldn't be too much of a stretch that the only reason why there isn't a youth training camp or such of seekers for the war is because neither side has actually seen the younglings before and just assumed that the model types would look the same as the upgraded models. Because seriously with all the emphasis on air tactics going on you'd think both sides would push for more air models then what they did if they could get a hold of more that weren't already on a side.
So much crack potential to be had or even serious with some funny in it.
(It is interesting, just working out the backstory makes me go -_- since I'm one of those types who like to put reasoning in such ideas and how to slide it into normal canon reasoning. Even if it would make explaining the Negavator incident a pain.
Damnit Starscream, the one time you should have been a bastard you didn't really act like it when you had an Autobot glitching and easy to manipulate in your hands)no subject
Date: 2009-08-30 01:03 am (UTC)True, in cannon there is a push. It seems like the Decepticons have the advantage over the Autobots. But obviously there have to be Autobot flyers, (even if they are mostly helicopters)... That reminds me, while we're on this subject, which model type would eventually become helicopters? I'll just stick to Seekers I guessed.
As for getting ahold of those with flight capability- I think both sides by now have developed what we've developed for tanks. About 9/10 of all bombs/explosives are designed for Tanks. Because Tanks are important for us. Meanwhile, the Autobots and Cons both place more importance on air support I'm guessing. So would 9/10 of their weaponry be to take down Seekers? If so, most of the Seekers would be in hiding, and then witht he war and flyers on both sides splitting up, those that had younglings got seperated from them.
And in a lot of cases, most of the younglings don't even know their Seekers. So the flyers pay special, extra cautious attention to those with Lambo/Datsun frames, kidnap them, and check to make certain. Just, three certain trio's of Datsun's/Lambo's have managed to avoid capture and testing so far- the number one reason why they're still alive.
See, it can even tie into Lambo's were created to take down Seekers- the Seekers weren't certain which were sparkling/youngling, and had to capture them all.

Date: 2009-08-30 07:09 pm (UTC)The helicopters didn't really hit me considering the majority of such I've seen tend to be triplechangers or part of a gestalt group.
Yeah, though as my grandpa used to say, the tank is just a bigger target that needs a bit more firepower to take down. That and with the seekers and hiding there was probably anti-seeker sentiment amongst some groups as they went. Making the younglings not look like seekers even more of a blessing.
OUr favorite trio of Datsun/Lambos also have their positions and such to help with that I bet too. Since aside from the twins the rest probably didn't get exposed as much to seekers early on. Blue being a gunner he probably stayed undercover a lot, Prowl and Red Alert are officers that they can't really afford to lose, Smokescreen is a Diversionary tactician and part of the psych corp so most wouldn't have been exposed battlefield wise all that much until earth.
The old hide them in plain sight. Seeker goes for a potential youngling only to find it's not and have to fight off that Lambo now.

Date: 2009-08-31 06:30 am (UTC)I guess you're right about the helicopters, they are triple changers or gestalt members. But it was a nice thought anyways.
Tanks are fancy ways of getting yourself killed. If you have a tank, then you're screaming that you want to be killed. Period.
Meanwhile, while Starscream and his trine is still attempting to figure out if the Datsun trio are hidden Seekers, they've already confirmed thee fact that Sideswipe and Susntreaker are. The only problem now is to get them away from the autobots long enough to reformat them- a task that's proving hard.
