I've been lurking for about, what? Three months? Four? I guess it was enough for me to get a Livejournal. Maybe (hopefully) this will help my motivation as of late.
As for the bunnies themselves, I had no idea how badly they could swarm until, well, they started swarming. My first list, and I've already got a whole 25 bunnies for you.
I like 25 actually. Nice round number. I'll probably use that as a post-mark.
1. "Sing us a song, you're the Piano Man..." - Piano Man, by Billy Joel. I can see this translating oddly well into Cybertronian terms- except that I'm awful with the rhymes and whatnot. (I already have this picture in my head of a Cybertronian Billy Joel and the piano from Maccadam's that I've heard about)
2. Sunstreaker didn't like mirrors just because he was reflected in them- though that was a nice perk. Mirrors were, in his optics, the epitome of perfection, regardless of whatever was reflected back.
3. Cybertronian music was not made by instruments or anything of the like. On Cybertron, musicians went about their art by travelling the world, collecting every sound, every possible sound that they had even the slightest chance of using, and put those sounds together into long, winding pieces of music. It sounds very different from typical human music, and vocals and lyrics are virtually unheard of. This is what Jazz did before the war- traveling all over Cybertron, picking up sounds, recording them, and then making them flow together.
3a. As a musician, Jazz needed new sound. That was not a want. It was a compulsion, or he would go insane. Unfortunately for Jazz, he was so good at what he did, he had quite literally heard every sound on Cybertron. The war offered only brief and shallow reprieve- Earth was nothing short of a godsend, and would keep him satisfied for at least a millennia until he would have to find something new.
4. "The difference between you and me, ________, is that my psychosis is entirely benign."
5. Megatron vs. Megabyte (RebootxTransformers)
6. What started out as a joke turned into a long, elaborate set of short stories, exchanged between the two sides with regularity. The Transformers were indeed split by two sides- one that wished to reveal their presence to humanity (Autobots), and one that wished to keep their presence secret (Decepticons). They are spotted only on occasion, hidden until the sides can come to an agreement. Once, they were spotted by a visiting Japanese toy developer. Somehow, they became acquainted with a person who worked for Hasbro, and, the two sides decided, it would be an excellent compromise for now.
But what to put on this show? Why not that running joke that some of the younger bot's have been keeping alive? The one where the Decepticons were out to conquer the Earth/Galaxy/Universe, and the Autobots were out to stop them?
7. A bot stumbles across a group of children playing Stella Ella Ola.
7a. What's that game about anyways?
8. Speaking of childrens games,
Ring around the rosey,
Pockets full of posey
Husha, husha
We all fall down!
How would they react to learning just what that song is about? (Or at least, I've heard it's about the black plague)
8a. Is there something similar on Cybertron? (a rhyme or poem or something that seems innocent until you actually learn what it's about, taught to children/equivilent to the point that most people don't realise its true origin any more?)
9. "Please tell me you're not developing another psychosis."
10. ?: "Hang in there, man, you're gonna be okay."
Giant glowing tree comes into view
Dying Bot: "... I need to take some samples."
(Gee, I wonder who that sounded like.)
11. "Death? Who are you to speak of death? I AM Death."
12. 1: "I'm not afraid of death. Only the pain that comes before it."
2: "..."
3: "That is the absolute last thing I ever expected to come from your lip components."
2: "Sounds like it came straight from Dead End."
1: *Derisive laugh* "Dead End has no idea what he's talking about."
13. Bluestreak's constant chatter was developed as a self-defence mechanism when his home was destroyed. While I'm sure he was always a little bit chatty, it probably wasn't to the point it is now. So before that his name was Silverstreak, which, in Cybertronian, is similar in meaning, but not quite the same. (<--- Now that I've thought of it, this is now my personal canon. I never liked that they had to change Bluestreak's name to Silverstreak. This makes for less dislike on my part.... Now all I need is a fix for that nasty Jetfire/Skyfire snarl)
So what about the other bots then? How many of them changed their name after the war began in earnest? What were their previous designations?
13a. In particular, what was Starscream's? (I think Skyfire called Starscream by name right after he awoke, but I'm willing to file that under "Show mechanic so the kiddies don't get confused"). Then again, it may not have changed. That would be like him to do that.
14. KH/Transformers. Can a Cybertronian become a Nobody? What would they look like? Would they still be robots, or would they default to human-ish (basing this off of the fact that all the Organization members were, or looked, human. It could be default.)
14a. In Kingdom Hearts, each world had personalized Heartless (more or less). What would the Heartless look like on a Transformers world?
14b. Even if TF's can't become Nobody's, what would happen if Spike/Sparkplug/human of your choice did.
14c. What if Shockwave/Soundwave/Prowl already were Nobody's?
15. We've all seen them. The stories were a human gets turned into a robot, or the bots get turned into humans... What if one of the canon bots started out human?
15a. What if this is where some of the Season 2 bots came from?
15b. And Red Alert's glitch was caused by the fact that he got a prototype transfer, and not all the bugs were worked out yet?
15c. And, as a human, Red was female?
15d. Was anyone else?
16. The bots meet one Cobra Bubbles.
Unfortunately, he's there to evict them on behalf of the United Galactic Federation.
(Lilo and Stitch/Transformers Crossover. Whether either Lilo or Stitch actually make it into the fic is up to you. Bonus points and much love are awarded if the Grand Councilwoman gets a prominent part)
17. The G1 verse has a lot of plot holes and inconsistencies. And Bluestreak is the only one who notices.
18. TFA Blitzwing "We used to be one."
19. (2007Movie) Optimus goes to a funeral. "Three hundred and eighty six people died in our fight against Megatron that day. We were lucky it was so few... but it is still three hundred and eighty six people that could still be alive today."
20. Similarities between transformers subspace pockets and the Mobian tradition of making things appear out of nowhere
21. Title- This Old Man(Transformers)-There are some things that cannot be understood right away, that cannot be read about or instantly realised. And not just the usual cultural differences either. (Ironhide, Kup)
1. Sarcasm
(I had more, but alas, I've forgotten)
22. Bluestreak was a child star who was very unhappy with his life. He often ran away to the farther sections of the cities, masquerading as a simple merchant mech and living in the oft-unused quarters of his old friend Blurr. He doesn't see Blurr often anymore, as he's always out on a mission or other secret business. Blue doesn't mind, as long as he can get away from the spotlight for a while. But when his little town is attacked and the survivors flee or go underground, Bluestreak is left to flounder with no home, no job and almost no memory of who he was before. Despite that, he, on the recomendation of the medic who patched him (but in reality helped seal the illusion of always having been a merchant because the system is cheap and even minor memory repairs are extremely time consuming and expensive) finds a simple job in a new city-town under the employ of a mech called Trailbreaker. He meets many people and makes many new friends and has never been happier. Yet he knows something is missing, and when pieces of his scattered memory start filling in, he's no longer really sure of who he is or who he should be.
He would do anything to find out who that blue mech is. He knows that mech, and knows him well, but his scattered memories are largely unhelpful. Where is he? Who is he? Was he killed in the same attack that injured Bluestreak? Blue needs to know.
So he begins one of the most frustrating, long, and dead-end ridden searches of his life- such as he could remember anyways. And then, by chance, he encounters a certain cyber ninja by the name of Jazz.
(aaaalll taking place post-series. Prowl is dead, Optimus is (temporarily?) in charge, Blurr is a cube, and the elite guard is still trying to figure out what happened to him.
(I started writing this, but I honestly don't know if I'll be able to finish it. All I've got is a couple of quotes, a few important scenes, and that's it. I just don't write enough to do it justice.)
23. IRobot-Transformers crossover
24. In the alternate universe theory, each mech by the same name is of the same spark, merely raised and living in different circumstances. This is almost universally true, though it happens on occasion that two mech's with the same name (and the same meaning), will be two entirely different people, both in spark and attitude, without making the name innacurate.
Except that none of the Jetfire's are truly the same person. Each Jetfire is his own person, existing singularly in his own universe alone. Why is that?
25. *This is... pretty much a complete synopsis of a dream I had a few weeks ago. If you would like to skip all the details and stuff, the basis of the dream was this- Red Alert is the Fallen. You may run with that if you like. Or you can take the more detailed version below- which would be a vastly different story, I'm sure.) Warning: this one's rather long.
25a. Every generation, the first Thirteen are reincarnated, except that, until now, not all the original Thirteen were dead, such as Vector Prime, the Fallen, and possibly a few others. Despite that, the others were still reborn as new mechs and femme's- oblivious to their collective past. In the interest of safeguarding these bots and the hidden power they all carry, a secret organization was formed.
Vector Prime started this organization. Being outside of time, he does not age, and not being dead, he is not reborn. He cannot be there all the time to protect his reborn brethren, so he inducts Transformers of very specific matching sets to his brothers.
The guardians were these:
Sideswipe (Sunstreaker?)
Perceptor (May be a reborn?)
Inferno
Hound
???
The Reborn were these:
Red Alert
???
Optimus Prime (?)
Skyfire
They are all versed in the legends- those of common knowledge and the one's taught to them by Vector Prime. They are all tasked with protecting their respective charge- those charges each being one of the Thirteen reborn. The reborn do not know, though they may guess, which of the Thirteen they are, only that they are one.
So what happens when, for one reason or another, Red Alert turns out to be the Fallen? Especially when nobody had even realised the original Fallen had deactivated?
So the argument starts. Do they keep Red, and protect him as they would their other charges, or do they throw him out, to get him away before he can betray them first?
Keep in mind that, while Red isn't the most well-liked, and can be odd (understatement) at times, he is still an Autobot, and the others do care about him. There may have been extenuating circumstances to the Fallen's betrayal, or perhaps the betrayal was a self-fulfilling prophecy?
What do they do then, if that's the case?
(like said, Vector Prime isn't around alot, only checking up on them two or three times in their entire lifetimes, whenever a new Reborn-Guardian pair surfaces. They can't ask him)

There goes the bunnies. .______________________.

Date: 2010-03-11 01:30 pm (UTC)I once had a plotbunny about Servants of Primus, and them being the sparks of past Primes sent out into the living world to do a task. Starscream was one of them - one who was "lost" due to being experimented on and suffering significant trauma because of it.
I am thinking of that now because I was thinking it fit... somewhat, with this plotbunny. Skyfire knew Starscream as Stellaris. Stellaris however got taken into custody after he came back from the disasterous mission and when someone found he had some very anomalous spark readings, he got handed over to scientist to study. He is eventually freed by Decepticons who attack the lab he's in and he eagerly joins the Decepticons to get revenge on the government that sent him into the hell of the laboratory, changing his name to Starscream. The Decepticons never knew him as anyrhing else but Starscream - in fact, the only mech who now lives that knows he was once "Stellaris"... is Skyfire.

Date: 2010-03-12 02:13 am (UTC)And Stellaris! I do love that as a name for him. Suitable, attractive, the right sort of meaning, but a little softer than his current name- likely due to the fact that he was probably a softer person at the time.

Date: 2010-03-13 03:17 am (UTC)The same plotbunny also had Sevants taking up positions on both sides of the war - Divinus Prime joined the Autobots under the name of Preceptor, while Audius Prime joined the Decepticons under the name of Soundwave. Their job was to see that neither side went too far and did major damage to Cybertron's superstructure.

Date: 2010-03-15 02:40 am (UTC)You're more than welcome to. And what does that mean about the Shattered Glass verse? It is an interesting thought- though I'm not too sure about the answer myself.
