This article: www.nytimes.com/2010/08/23/nyregion/23reptile.html. Only instead, it happens to one of the Autobots, and on discovering the likely reasoning that the alligator was left there, they investigate. Maybe it's Smokescreen? Blue Datsun, and all that . . . Other than that, any continuity and character open to the author.

1) Being from Florida by way of Maryland originally, I have to question the reasoning of ANYONE from ANYWHERE that thinks a goddamn gator - known om-nommers of other logical house pets - is cute enough to be your next "goldfish."

2) I... might have to ponder on this a bit.

Not all, but the vast majority of people who end up with a gator/croc as a "pet" are uneducated and have them as, ah, "status symbols" the same way as with lions and tigers (ie slum lords, drug dealers, people with too much money and not enough brains etc). They want them not because they are cute but because they are dangerous (yes, I question this reasoning as well... >< some people...). Once the person finally realizes, "Oh dang this thing is dangerous to me and hard to feed", they dump it without giving a flying flip about the people who are actually going to have to deal with it. Sometimes they are owned by wildlife peeps and they just get away, which, you know, happens I guess??? XD

I hope you do write this! I'd totally read it!. ^_^
