A Few Plotbunnies.

I’m new here. I watched the original G1 Transformers when it aired and liked it but didn’t really follow the franchise when I got older. Then I got into Transformers Prime and it got me hooked again. I’m rewatching the original series again and I’ve seen some of Armada and Animated. I’ve read tons of fanfiction and I have lots of ideas of my own but I have no time to write them so I thought I’d post some here so maybe someone will find them inspirational.



1. G1. Wheeljack creates a weapon designed to disrupt combiner technology. He uses it successfully on one of the Decepticon combiners (Stunticons, Combaticons, or Constructicons, your choice,) during battle. But the weapon has the unforeseen side-effect of breaking the gestalt bonds between the individual mechs.

Now the former team members have to deal with the loss of their gestalt bonds and their changed status in the Decepticon ranks. Meanwhile, the Autobot combiner teams are worried that the weapon could be stolen or duplicated and used on them and want it destroyed.

I find the idea of the gestalt and trine bonds to be really interesting so I’d like to see a story where it was broken by something other than death and how both sides would react to it.

2. G1. I’ve seen a few interesting stories where Starscream was the one to crash instead of Skyfire but what about a story where they both crash and get frozen together. They’re then discovered by either side.
If they’re discovered by the Autobots, they have to deal with the shock of finding out about the destruction of Cybertron and the mistrust towards Seekers by some of the Autobots while Starscream has to deal with the knowledge that all his fellow Seekers are on the other side of the war.

If they’re discovered by the Decepticons, Skyfire has to struggle with his pacifistic nature among the Decepticons while Starscream finds himself fascinated by the charismatic Megatron.

I just think it would be interesting to have them both having to adjust to all the changes that have happened since they were frozen but I couldn’t decide which scenario I liked better.

3. Any. After losing Skyfire and returning to Cybertron, Starscream falls into a depressed apathy and turns his feelings off. He ends up working for Shockwave as a scientist during the war. Megatron comes to visit Shockwave and encounters the Seeker scientist. Intrigued, he tries to pursue him but Starscream is politely indifferent to the Decepticon leader which only makes him want him more.

That’s it for now. If anyone knows of any existing stories with similar plots, please provide links. I’d love to read them.

For #2, I've seen a drabble or two, but no full-length stories. I'll see if I can hunt down the links for those drabbles.

Have too many other projects in the works, but I certainly wouldn't mind seeing someone try this.
