1. Inspired by watching "The Golden Lagoon", where Beachcomber, Seaspray, and Perceptor escape Decepticon HQ by blasting out a window. Megatron decides that having windows is a security breach and orders the Constructicons to replace them with solid steel... only to have six claustrophobic Seekers absolutely panic at this decision, and rebel against it rather violently. It's pretty much the first time ever that the Decepticons have seen all the squabbling, arrogant Seekers work together on something so very easily.
2. Superion is destroyed in battle. Almost. Miraculously, Silverbolt barely survives, after Ratchet manages to separate him from his teammates in a painstaking, last-resort operation. He's badly damaged, but the damage to his body isn't the problem... losing one's gestalt-mates is a devastating experience even in the best of circumstances, and having the gestalt violently destroyed while they were merged has shattered his mind.
(Obviously this could work for any gestalt - Silverbolt was just the one in mind when I came up with the idea.)
3. We all know about Prime's most infamous, least acknowledged, and most useless talent: making his trailer appear whenever he transforms, no matter where he is or, indeed, if there was even a trailer nearby. This is a profound mystery and none of the other Autobots question it. One day, though, something goes terribly wrong... Optimus transforms, and what appears is... uh... not his trailer. It's pretty obvious, with the giant "Coca-Cola" logo blazoned across the side. And now, for no apparent reason, every time he transforms, he summons the wrong trailer from somewhere - containing everything from soda to oil to livestock shipments. This causes no end of grief for truckers anywhere in the vicinity of Optimus Prime, and the (highly amused) Autobots try to figure out a solution to this most peculiar problem...
4. The Transformers awoke from stasis on Earth in the year 1984. But suppose they landed not in that 1984, but in George Orwell's 1984? The Transformers emerge into a world that is no stranger to endless warfare, and throw a completely unexpected wrench into the perpetual cycle of violence that has swallowed the human race.
5. Reflector is without a doubt the underdog of the Decepticons. The fact that he's one of the only Decepticons who somewhat appreciates Earth's beauty only makes it worse - none of the others understand his love of photography, and ridicule him for it. However, he ends up finding an unexpected ally...
-a. ...in Hound. Some circumstance forces them together, and Reflector discovers to his utter surprise that this Autobot actually understands his appreciation for Earth's beauty and doesn't ridicule him for it. It's the first time in a very, very long time that someone has actually addressed him as an equal and not looked down on him or bullied him.
-b. ...in Soundwave. Alone of the other Decepticons, Soundwave has an appreciation for the aesthetic. He enjoys the beauty of Earth's sounds just as much as Reflector appreciates its vistas. The two come to a strange understanding, possibly helped along by the fact that Reflector is about the same size as Rumble and Frenzy and triggers some of Soundwave's well-hidden protective instinct.
6. Breakdown and Red Alert are forced to work together to get out of some disastrous situation or other. Hilarity ensues as the two most paranoid mechs in the world must trust each other or perish.

Date: 2010-04-16 04:48 am (UTC)Considering how the book 1984 ended, there isn't much the Cybertronians could do to make it much /worse/.
