Not numbered simply because lj doesn't like numbering. There's twenty-two of them.
Perceptor as Megatron's treacherous Second In Command. Starscream as the quiet, slightly absent-minded Autobot Scientist.
The Robo-Smasher was an accident. Megatron didn't tell it to target the Constructicons, it was just… luck of the draw.
Slag/Beachcomber
TF:Ani – Barricade was a Decepticon who was captured by the Autobots. His partner, Jazz, gave himself up and agreed to work for the Autobots as long as they didn’t kill Barricade. Technically, they didn’t – but Prowl isn’t his partner, and Jazz hates him for that.
A Cybertronian Marching Band.
How did the Fallen become, well, fallen?
The war isn’t real – it’s just a play, dictating the ‘myth’ on how the world came to be how it is now.
Primus made a planet, and on this planet he placed thirteen people, who would share the responsibility of shaping their world. To twelve, he gave the ability to dream, to imagine, to hope. To one, he did not. The Thirteenth could see only darkness, could bring forth only nothingness. So that’s what he contributed to Cybertron, a race of ‘beings’ who are nothing, who unmake everyone they touch.
Prowl is a direct descendent of the Thirteenth – the Fallen.
A Cybertronian Dream-Catcher.
Four million years is a long time to be asleep, even for a species as long-lived as the Cybertronians. In fact, one would think that it would be long enough for a language shift, neh?
The Autobots discover the DigiWorld.
Jazz/Shockwave.
Blurr meets the Flash (preferably the Wally West version, but hey, not my story.)
Perceptor creates dragons. And unleashes them into their ‘natural habitats’.
Where did the idea of carving a symbol into oneself as a sign of loyalty come from?
The Tale of Beta, The Greatest Warrior.
Megatron/Dion.
Perceptor/Shockwave/Soundwave
Mirage lays down the law when somebody insults Hound due to their relationship.
Jazz is ferociously protective of his Special Ops agents. And he is Not Happy about the situation revolving around Mirage and Hound.
Ravage meets his maker (a.k.a. Ratchet.)

Date: 2008-07-30 07:08 am (UTC)I want to see this fic NOW. Actually... *ponders* I'd like to see Skyfire come online one day and find Starscream and Perceptor switched like this, and be given the choice to either let things go back to normal and lose Starscream all over again, or keep things switched and doom Perceptor to the Decepticon life.
Oooh! I've never seen Barricade --> Prowl in Animated! Sneaky, sneaky Autobot High Command, to pull a fast one on poor Jazz. So Jazz hates Prowl for not being Barricade? And Prowl probably doesn't even remember being Barricade... hmmm...
A Cybertronian Marching Band.
HAH! Makes me think of Decepticon Day with the processing through the streets and the Teen Dance Party and everything. And let's not forget Animated Megatron's lovely parade insult to Starscream right before he fusion-cannoned him...
Oh! Oh! What about Cybertronians who are built to provide musical entertainment as their main function? So, they'd look like those one-person-band people with harmonicas and drums and cymbals and tubas sticking out everywhere and they'd make cartoony noises when they walk!
The war isn’t real – it’s just a play, dictating the ‘myth’ on how the world came to be how it is now.
So, would the specific people in the 'war' still be real, or are they just random actor Cybertronians portraying the fictional characters Optimus, Megatron, etc.?
Four million years is a long time to be asleep, even for a species as long-lived as the Cybertronians. In fact, one would think that it would be long enough for a language shift, neh?
So Megatron would try to contact Shockwave and they'd just talk gibberish back and forth at each other? XD And does this mean that the Cons on Cybertron could technically insult the Cons on Earth with spiffy new profanity, and the Cons on Earth wouldn't know what was going on?
Perceptor creates dragons. And unleashes them into their ‘natural habitats’.
Which is where?... Oh, *please* tell me that some of those dragons are *sea* dragons, and Percy sent some to go play with the Cons at their base.
Ravage meets his maker (a.k.a. Ratchet.)
Metaphorically? As in, Ravage gets wrenched upside the head or sat on or something? Or literally????? Now that I think of it, I don't think I've ever seen Soundwave/Ratchet before. And wouldn't it be smart of Soundwave to bond with a medic who would know how to take care of his cassettes, but is tough enough to discipline them. Or maybe Soundwave wasn't involved in Ravage's creation at all! That would explain why there's two bird-cassettes and two biped-cassettes and Ravage is the odd one out - he's adopted! Although that also implies that Ratbat is adopted...

Date: 2008-07-30 07:21 am (UTC)Ohh, nice twist. I also want to see this fic right now. And I can't decide what I want Skyfire to choose..
Oooh! I've never seen Barricade --> Prowl in Animated! Sneaky, sneaky Autobot High Command, to pull a fast one on poor Jazz. So Jazz hates Prowl for not being Barricade? And Prowl probably doesn't even remember being Barricade... hmmm...
My thought was that they basically just erased Barricade's personality and put Prowl in, making Prowl think he was newly built. I've considered a few different ways to 'save' Barricade, but I won't go into that. ...This one was spawned from the whole 'Jazz shows off to Prowl' scene in the episode where the Elite Guard showed up. He seemed kinda... derisive to me. As though to say, 'and you don't know this?' And that lead to bitter. And, as a product of my fandom's age, I love a good Jazz/Prowl story, so...
So, would the specific people in the 'war' still be real, or are they just random actor Cybertronians portraying the fictional characters Optimus, Megatron, etc.?
Goooood question. *hasn't got a clue*
So Megatron would try to contact Shockwave and they'd just talk gibberish back and forth at each other? XD And does this mean that the Cons on Cybertron could technically insult the Cons on Earth with spiffy new profanity, and the Cons on Earth wouldn't know what was going on?
Exactly. Only, I was kinda thinking the younger ones - Shockwave might still remember the old speech patterns, but, say, Hot Rod? Probably not.
Which is where?... Oh, *please* tell me that some of those dragons are *sea* dragons, and Percy sent some to go play with the Cons at their base.
Everywhere. There's mountain dragons, forest dragons, and, yes, sea dragons. And probably quite a few others (ice dragon, anyone?), but those are the ones I know are plausible. ...I love Animal Planet.

When I first wrote it? Metaphorically. But then I decided that I would really love to see Ratchet/Soundwave myself. Or even your adopted thought, which would be so much fun.

I wonder how that would cross with Dion being Ultra Magnus?

I've never even considered that possibility... Maybe Magnus was a spy, only now he's angry over Galvatron? Or maybe he actually doesn't like what Megatron is doing?

Date: 2008-07-30 11:19 am (UTC)Well... that explains a lot. Prowl being a cold logical being and the fallen being someone you can toast marshmellows on. Either something happened along the lineage or Prowl's hiding something big.
Perceptor creates dragons. And unleashes them into their ‘natural habitats’.
Which causes world wide pandamonium... and wheeljack to get ideas.
The Robo-Smasher was an accident. Megatron didn't tell it to target the Constructicons, it was just… luck of the draw.
Maybe the Robo-smasher's semi-sentient and decided it wanted the constructicons.

Date: 2008-07-30 07:07 pm (UTC)*is slightly confused* I was actually referring to the fact that the Fallen wouldn't be big on imagination, or other things of that type, so he'd probably be fairly logical. Prowl wouldn't be as bad as him - he has the ability to be imaginitive and emotional - because of other, regular Cybertronians also being in his bloodline. I'm thinking that all Cybertronians would be able to trace their linage back to one of the others, but that, since they all had basically the same programming, it wouldn't be as big a deal.
Which causes world wide pandamonium... and wheeljack to get ideas.
Yesh. *grins* But, most importantly, it gives dragon fanatics like me a reason to celebrate. *thinks* It would also cause wide-spread political debates. They weren't made by god, and so should be destroyed (as some would say). Would they be put on the endangered species list? Or what?
Maybe the Robo-smasher's semi-sentient and decided it wanted the constructicons.
Could be.

Date: 2008-07-31 10:30 am (UTC)Ah I see. My apologies I was thinking more along the line the since the fallen joined unicron that some of Unicron's influence may have made it way down the ancestral line. Nevertheless I'm probably wrong. *is sheepish*

*is also a dragon fanatic* It'd be an awesome sight. Though you are right especially since Dragon's are usually considered large...and may take a lot of feeding. I dunno depends on how many their are I guess.

Date: 2008-07-30 04:34 pm (UTC)This seems like it could be really interesting, if done right.
"A Cybertronian Marching Band."
As a former marching band nerd (a bad injury prevents me from doing it in college...) this is another one that'd be really interesting to see. Especially when matching bots to their instruments. (Believe me, each section has its own distinct personality. My section, for example, were a bunch of arrogant perverts who everybody inexplicably loved. And we were also very touchy-feely.)
"The war isn’t real – it’s just a play, dictating the ‘myth’ on how the world came to be how it is now."
I think I've heard of a similar idea, either on here or elsewhere, but instead of a play, it was an RPG.
"Jazz is ferociously protective of his Special Ops agents. And he is Not Happy about the situation revolving around Mirage and Hound."
Oh, he so would. This is another one that has the potential to be great!

Date: 2008-07-30 07:11 pm (UTC)As a current marching band nerd, believe me, I know. Drummers, for example, tend to be annoying idiots who can't keep their hands still (no offense meant, I've known quite a few of them who were really nice. One of my best friends was a drummer... Of course, she just quit...) Flutes tend towards the preppier girls (again, sorry. I'm labeling, I can't help it...) Clarinets tend to get the majority of the girls who don't fit in with the flutes. And so on, and so on.
I think I've heard of a similar idea, either on here or elsewhere, but instead of a play, it was an RPG.
Ohhh, that sounds even better!
Oh, he so would. This is another one that has the potential to be great!

no subject
Date: 2008-07-31 01:22 am (UTC)I was thinking Arcee as a clarinet as well. As for Chromia... maybe euphonium? ...and Jazz as drum major... omigod, someone should draw this...

Date: 2008-07-31 01:37 am (UTC)Way to completely and totally stump me.
Ooh, what would Megatron be? Or Starscream, or Soundwave, or Blaster (prolly drumline), or the Twins (both sets!), or...
...this is gonna keep me busy all night...
no subject
Date: 2008-07-31 01:43 am (UTC)Tuba's... Maybe Megatron and Optimus Prime? Tubas are the base of the rest of the band (it's the pyramid!) And Skyfire... As sad as it is, I kinda wanna give him a piccolo. But I doubt that would work, so a flute or clarinet?
What about the minibots? Cliffjumper, Huffer, Bumblebee, Powerglide, Beachcomber, Gears... Oh, and what about Prowl? *has a vision of a guard-member Prowl*
no subject
Date: 2008-07-31 01:49 am (UTC)The image in my head of Skyfire and Starscream playing flutes makes me lawl, hard. But not as hard as the image of Megs and Prime having a tuba duel...
Powerglide would probably be a boner- er, a trombone. Huffer should play alto sax, though I'm not sure why this fits so well in my head... Bumblebee would probably be the only boy in the clarinet section. (There's usually one or two.) I don't know about the others.
Poor Prowl. That'd be hilarious...
no subject
Date: 2008-07-31 01:56 am (UTC)*grins* They (Megatron and OP) would both be trying to prove they were better than the other!
Powerglide as a trombone? ...I can live with that. My brother is a trombonist, and he's got a scarily similar attitude to 'Glide.
And, yes, we tend to have a few boys. We went two in my first year, three in my second, then two in my third, and then two again this year.
An improvement - Prowl the twirler.
The Dinobots? Wheeljack, Ratchet, Perceptor? *totally wants 'Ceptor in her section*
no subject
Date: 2008-07-31 02:06 am (UTC)Knowing Prowl, he wouldn't understand why everybody laughed at his choice behind his back. ("It's a perfectly respectable position. I'm a section leader, aren't I?")
I'm sure the Dinobots are too clumsy to march in formation, the poor biddies. They can be in auxilary/pit. They'd probably LIKE pit. They'd get to hit stuff. ^_^
Wheeljack and Ratchet... hm... Ratchet probably wouldn't want anything to do with this, actually. (Once again, I'm stumped) Wheeljack, on the other hand, would be totally into it, regardless of what section he was in. Hell, he's so amiable, he'd fit in with any section.
*thinks* Skywarp and Thundercracker? Hot Rod? Springer? Blurr? Wreck-Gar?
no subject
Date: 2008-07-31 02:14 am (UTC)Prowl would probably be the only twirler - it's hard for more than one to be 'in time'.
Good point. The Dinobots would enjoy that.
Ratchet, Ratchet, Ratchet... *is also stumped* Err, why don't we just say that he came up with the show? Wheeljack would fit anywhere - that doesn't make this any easier. *sighs heavily* Maybe another french horn? or trumpet?
Skywarp and Thundercracker? ...Actually, I can kinda see them as saxes. Sideswipe would love having Skywarp around to help him with his pranks.
Hot Rod I can see as a drummer, for whatever reason... Springer, though, has me stumped. I'm tempted to just shove him into the guard as well. Blurr? ...I'm not sure he can slow down enough for this. And Wreck-Gar needs to be in the guard, simply because I find it amusing.
*thinks* Hook, Bonecrusher, Scrapper, Mixmaster, Scavenger, and Long Haul?
no subject
Date: 2008-07-31 02:31 am (UTC)Aw, Hot Rod would be such an eager young drummer. Springer could probably be a drummer, too, though. Yes? No? Maybe? Then we have two drummer/clarinet matches! (We're getting a large drumline, aren't we?) And Wreck-Gar as a guard member (no, Guard CAPTAIN) is epic win.
Oh, jeez, the Constructicons. I don't think they'd want to be separated, but they're all so quirky... uh... MORE BRASS PLAYERS! Yes!
Ironhide? Mirage? Hound? The Aerialbots? (This is quickly escalating to become a full-sized marching band, if only one of the smaller ones...)
no subject
Date: 2008-07-31 02:53 am (UTC)Hmm... Hook I'm tempted to put as a woodwind, but I don't know which one. Maybe a flute. Scrapper strikes me as a trumpet. Bonecrusher? French horn? I've known some crazy, I-hate-the-world-and-everything-else-including-myself french horn(ists?). Mixmaster, Scavenger, and Long Haul... Trombones?
Ah, dear old Ironhide... I haven't a clue. Want him as a sax? and tenor or alto? Mirage strike me as a clarinet-type, actually. Or somebody who would play a harp, but you can't carry a harp onto the field, so...
Hound? Low brass something, I think... And Aerialbots? I wanna put Skydive as a sax, and Slingshot as well. Fireflight? ...Actually, he might be a good alto sax. Air Raid, trombone? Silverbolt... I don't know.
Protectobots? Not counting the ones I'm considering in this post, we have: 3 clarinets, 3 flutes, 2 trombones, 5 drummers, 2 tubas, 2 trumpets, 4 saxes (I put Sideswipe and Skywarp as tenors, but Huffer and Thundercracker as alto's...), 1 french horn, 5 auxilary, 2 guard, 1 twirler, and 1 drum major. Which is only

Date: 2008-07-31 03:11 am (UTC)Ironhide would probably be more of a tenor. It's the manlier of the two. XD And Mirage is clarinet-ish, isn't he? Just as Tracks is guard-ish, if only to one-up Sunny. I dunno about Silverbolt, either, poor guy... he just can't catch a break...
I don't know enough about the Protectobots' individual personalities, considering the only epi I've seen with them recently was the godawful "B.O.T." Though, I'm curious about Red Alert! (Inferno would also be a trombone. I dunno why...)
I just posted an entry in my own journal keeping tabs of what we have so far, cos I'm so, so tempted to do a series of pictures. Even though my scanner sucks.

Date: 2008-07-31 03:16 am (UTC)Yay for Tenor!Ironhide. I'm not quite sure why 'Raj is clarinet-ish though... Tracks should totally be on guard.
First Aid is a pacifist. Blades is an ass. Hot Spot is the leader. Groove is a hippie. Streetwise is... a cop? And, yes, Inferno would be a trombone. Red Alert though... He'd think the whole thing is a conspiracy (a.k.a. I haven't a clue where he should go.)
I was just keeping a list...
no subject
Date: 2008-07-31 03:29 am (UTC)Aw, poor Red Alert... though, it is fitting...
Hm... The fact that you called Groove a hippie makes him a horn player, too! (I dunno. We had a hippy-ish horn player) As for the others... uh... First Aid probably wouldn't want to deal with all the competition. (Really, he wants to hang with Ratchet. Yes. Haha.) Blades... oh, jeez, another drummer! (Some of them are assholes...) I have absolutely no clue for those other two.
Jeez, who else is even left? I coulda sworn there were more characters than this.
no subject
Date: 2008-07-31 03:45 am (UTC)Go Groove! As for Blades... Yeah, he'd be a drummer. *pauses* Some of them? Closer to, like, ninety-eight percent of them, I'm afraid. *has had way to many bad experiences with drummers*
Hot Spot can be a trumpet with Starscream and Streetwise can be... O.o Err... Guard, because he can't be a twirler like his idol Prowl?
Hmm... Stunticons? Ravage? Laserbeak?

Date: 2008-07-31 05:27 am (UTC)Somehow, I don't think Ravage or Laserbeak can march. Or Buzzsaw, for that matter. The poor guys... their bipedal brothers getting all the glory... As for the Stunticons, again, I don't know much about 'em, but I always got the impression they were a bunch of egotistic bullies. *feels stupid and non-helpful*
The other Junkions would follow their leader into the guard, of course. (And... it's the cutest colorguard evar... I likes Junkions and Sunny and Tracks...)
I know who we're forgetting: Triplechangers, coneheads, and Starscream's brigade! Well, and Shockwave, but he doesn't really have a mouth...
*wonders if there's a way to complain about the word limit*
Date: 2008-07-30 10:22 pm (UTC)*loves* Perceptor would be much more subtle about it, I think. And more dignified. Megatron would never know what hit him!
I'd also like to see Skyfire wake up to find this change. It'd be interesting.
The Robo-Smasher was an accident. Megatron didn't tell it to target the Constructicons, it was just… luck of the draw.
This one sounds vaguely familiar. Did we talk about this one?
Primus made a planet, and on this planet he placed thirteen people, who would share the responsibility of shaping their world.
*wonders how she could work Perceptor in there* This one sounds so interesting, but I don't think I could write it. *is sad*
A Cybertronian Dream-Catcher.
Made of energon crystals and web thin wires... so beautiful.
Four million years is a long time to be asleep, even for a species as long-lived as the Cybertronians. In fact, one would think that it would be long enough for a language shift, neh?
Like someone said *is too lazy to scroll down and see who* they could possibly download the new language. But like you said, the technology might not be compatible anymore. So the older ones who were on Cybertron would have to play translator until the younger ones learned the language.
And as I mentioned before (in one of my bunnies), those that learn a new language usually speak more properly than a native speaker (because a native speaker is comfortable enough with the language to use slang or shortened words). This could explain Perceptor's elegant speech patterns.
I think I'll grab this one. Or I'll try to grab it. If I don't do anything with it by the time Begin Again is finished, kick me.
The Autobots discover the DigiWorld.
You know, I used to be a big Digimon fan. But only the very first season of Digimon. My favorite was Koushiro (Izzy). *thinks* Perceptor and Koushiro totally need to have a conversation. *is now picturing Perceptor with the Crest of Knowledge engraved somewhere on his body*
Perceptor: *stares at engraving* "I don't recall agreeing to body art."
Kirin: "Ratchet drugged you for us."
Perceptor: *gives Rathcet kicked puppy look*

*squees* I didn't even think of Perceptor, but it would be an awesome reason for his speech patterns. Hmm... But did he learn English? O.o How do the Autobots speak to the humans, anyhow? Did they just wake up knowing our language(s)?

I like most of the seasons - they all have their strong points and their weak points (except the latest one, which I simply haven't put the effort into learning anything about). I actually hadn't thought of him learning English. I don't think any of my G1 fics even mention humans; I tend to forget about them. I think I have a way for him to earn English while perfecting his Old Cybertronian. Depends on if I can convince Blaster to come.
As for how the others learned English... Maybe Teletraan one uploaded it into their systems when they were reformatted with Earth forms?

Sunstreaker totally needs the Crest of Friendship! Even he would be all WTF?! It'd be funny.
Let's see... Perceptor - Knowledge, Sunstreaker - Friendship, Hot Rod - Courage, Bluestreak - Hope... Light... My mind insists on Blaster for some odd reason.

Date: 2008-07-31 03:13 pm (UTC)Reply Part 2!
Date: 2008-07-30 10:22 pm (UTC)Flesh and blood dragons or robotic ones (like Wheeljack created the Dinobots)?
If flesh and blood, would he have found a way to alter DNA to create them or would he have accidentally revived an actual species that everyone only believed to be a myth? This could make an excellent crossover with any fandom that included dragons (I'm thinking DragonHeart but I bet you're thinking Pern).
If robotic, I bet he didn't tell Optimus what he was doing. Optimus would probably see them as 'no better than the Dinobots'. The Dinobots, I think, would love having little 'brothers'. But Optimus could cause a lot of problems (and why do I always see Optimus as the bad guy in Dinobot fics?).
As for releasing them to their natural habitat... Maybe the Dracobots (Dragonbots?) could temporarily share Dinobot island? And the flesh and blood ones would spread out all over the world.
Or he could make both!
Where did the idea of carving a symbol into oneself as a sign of loyalty come from?
I read a fic once where it started as the Quintessons branding their slaves (Product logos) and eventually, after chasing the Quintessons off, it became a symbol to remind them of where they came from (or something). But after a while it just became associated with different models and the true origin was lost. Then when the war started, since most war builds were Decepticons, they chose that as their symbol and it became a sign of loyalty to the Decepticons. Same thing with the Civilian logo and the Autobots. I think. It's been a while since I read it... and it was boring so I didn't read the whole thing. Someone needs to come up with a new reason. Like... like Optimus and Megatron went through a rebellious stage in their youth and got engravings and later decided to use them as symbols of their factions in an attempt to forgot the actual (stupid) reason they got them. And because they really did need symbols for their factions.
*suddenly imagines Optimus and Megatron sitting at a desk, discussing possible symbols* *giggles*
Megatron/Dion
I want to see this. Because, well, it's Dion.
Perceptor/Shockwave/Soundwave
*loves* This would go great with my 'Perceptor is trapped in an arranged marriage' bunny.
Jazz is ferociously protective of his Special Ops agents.
Hmmm. He's protective of Mirage and one day decides to give Hound the Shovel speech! *wants to see this*
Re: Reply Part 2!
Date: 2008-07-30 10:45 pm (UTC)I was actually thinking flesh and blood, with the DNA thing, because 'Ceptor's just awesome like that. Pern takes place several thousand years in the future on another world, so I'm still not sure how to work a crossover for it. *is sad*
Robots would be good too, though. Dracobots! They'd need a mountain...
*on the symbol thing*
I rather like the explanation in Living With Autobots, Chapter 7.
*finds the image of the leaders debating over symbols hysterical*
I want to see this. Because, well, it's Dion.
Do Want!

Date: 2008-07-31 05:52 am (UTC)Well... The Ark and Nemesis can't have been the only ships to ever crash, now can they? *thinks* A mere single vorn after the Ark disappears, another ship, containing Perceptor, is sent off in search. And somehow crash lands on the world of Pern (I'm assuming Pern is a rather old world, so even if the books take place thousand of years in the future...) They eventually wake up, meet the dragons... and after several adventures involving the creation of a new species of dragon as well as the creation of the Dracobots, they manage to contact Cybertron, who informs them the Ark has been found. They then use a space bridge or shuttle to travel to Earth.
... How's that?
And the Dracobots could have the top half of the volcano?
I rather like the explanation in Living With Autobots, Chapter 7.
I need to read that again. I forgot that fic explained it.
*finds the image of the leaders debating over symbols hysterical*
*wishes someone would draw that*

Family Member/Friend: *holds out a shovel* "This is a shovel. If you ever even think of harming them, I will use this shovel to beat you to death and then I will use it to bury you."
That's more or less what it is. The ones I remember reading are so much better but I don't feel like hunting for one.

*hums along* *is thinking* I hate trying to pair digimon with new characters - the only ones with a solid evolution line are those that are already paired with someone - and I try to avoid those.
